*UPDATE* Bradley Cooper in Talks for Rocket Raccoon in 'Guardians of the Galaxy'

*UPDATE* The Wrap now reports that Bradley Cooper is officially in early talks to voice Rocket Raccoon, so pop a cork to Latino Review for getting one right. The original story is below.*

Filming on James Gunn's Guardians of the Galaxy is taking place right now, even though major roles are yet to be filled. Or at least one major role, that of the team's most popular member, Rocket Raccoon. Those who attended Comic-Con caught the early footage from the film, which featured plenty of dialogue but none of it from the CGI raccoon. It's going to be a scene-stealing part, that much is for certain, and according to a new rumor, Marvel has their eyes set on a major star for it.

According to Latino Review, Marvel has made an offer to Bradley Cooper to voice Rocket Raccoon, but that's as far as the story goes. There's no clue whether the actor is even interested in it, or if he's just one of many names being considered. It would likely be only a few days of work so he could conceivably fit it into his schedule, but that's jumping ahead a little bit and assuming this rumor has any validity. The same site wrote off their prior suggestions that had Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler circling the role, so let's just wait and see if this one holds up.

Assuming it's true, Cooper would be sharing lines with Vin Diesel, who is voicing Rocket Raccoon's best friend, Groot. With Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Glenn Close (!!!),  John C. Reilly, and more all together on one set, how could you not want to be a fly on the wall during those production meetings? Guardians of the Galaxy opens on August 1st 2014.
