"It's Not Over Yet"- 'The Raid 2: Berandal' Reveals a New Banner
Ask anyone what was the most amazing action flick they saw recently and the answer you'll probably get is The Raid: Redemption. Directed by Gareth Evans and starring Iko Uwais (who recently appeared in Man of Tai Chi), the film introduced us to a whole new form of martial art and reached incredible levels of beautifully choreographed violence. The wait for Evans' anticipated sequel, The Raid 2: Berandal has been tough, but the first official banner for the film has arrived, promising that "It's Not Over Yet".
The image reveals the entire cast of dudes (and one happy gal) that nobody will want to screw around with, including the returning Uwais. The film picks up right where The Raid left off, the film follows "Rama (Uwais) as he goes undercover and infiltrates the ranks of a ruthless Jakarta crime syndicate in order to protect his family and uncover the corruption in his own police force.“
And Evans, as he's wont to do, hit Twitter to tease that the sequel may actually be more action-packed than the original, which is mind-blowing in its own right....
“Last I checked – the action alone clocked in around 1hr 5mins mark. We have 17 action sequences in the film – so there’s going to be a lot fresh material unspoiled by any teaser or trailer we release.”
With footage on the way we can probably expect to see the film hit the festival circuit early next year, possibly at Sundance.
