Shailene Woodley Finds Love in First 'The Fault in Our Stars' Trailer

The path chosen by Shailene Woodley has been an interesting one, in that all of her films have always had a certain intelligence and maturity to them. Making her breakout in the Oscar-winner The Descendants, she moved on to teen alcoholism drama The Spectacular Now, and later this year will star in her first franchise in Divergent. When people see her, totally exposed and doing some very adult things in White Bird in a Blizzard (review of that to come shortly), it may be shocking until you realize she's always been pretty mature, anyway. And the same goes for The Fault in Our Stars, which looks like a simple story of young passionate love, but is really about so much more.

The first trailer for The Fault in Our Stars has been released, based on John Green's best-selling book directed by Josh Boone. This heartbreaker of a story centers on Hazel (Woodley) and Gus (Ansel Elgort), two cancer patients who fall in love in a support group and embark on an incredible journey...one where every moment spent together is something to be valued. It's a different sort of role for Woodley, and the story isn't as precious as one might think. There are a lot of very tough patches and their probably won't be a dry eye in the house, so pack plenty of tissues.

Co-starring Laura Dern, Mike Birbiglia, Nat Wolff, and Sam Trammell, The Fault in Our Stars opens June 6th 2014.
