Peter Mayhew Retuning as Chewbacca in 'Star Wars: Episode VII'
Filming may have already begun on Star Wars: Episode VII, but other than a couple of unconfirmed rumors nothing in regards to the cast has been announced. Disney exec Alan Horn admitted that, while it's been difficult, some casting has been completed. Speculation is on Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher are all expected back in their familiar roles, and now another of the old guard is set to return.
After rumors surfaced some weeks ago that Peter Mayhew would reprise the role of everyone's favorite Wookie, Chewbacca, THR brings confirmation he will again don the furry suit. Since it's impossible to have Chewie without Han Solo, the chances of Ford having already signed on are pretty good. Adam Driver appears to be locked in as a villain, while John Boyega, Lupita Nyong'o, Ed Speelers, Benedict Cumberbatch, and many more have been speculated for parts in the film.
J.J. Abrams is directing Star Wars: Episode VII for release on December 18th 2015.
