Casey Affleck to Star in Boston Marathon Bombing Drama 'Boston Strong'

Just like his big brother Ben, Casey Affleck has often starred in films that stay on his home field of Boston. When a film based on the Boston Marathon bombing was announced earlier this year it seemed like a natural fit for at least one of the Affleck boys to take part in, and now we know it will be Casey starring in it.

According to Variety, Affleck will star in and produce Boston Strong, which will be penned by Eric Johnson and Paul Tamasy (The Fighter), based on Casey Sherman and Dave Wedge's upcoming book. While there's no confirmation of Affleck's role, the film will deal with the city's reaction to the 2013 bombing and the manhunt to apprehend the two men responsible.

Affleck is currently filming Disney's Coast Guard drama, The Finest Hours, which is also set in Boston, adapted by Tamasy and Johnson from Sherman's book. Synergy is a wonderful thing.
