Forget about Paranormal Activity next Halloween, because a Guillermo Del Toro horror is set to take over the genre crown. Del Toro is following up Pacific Rim with his star-studded gothic ghost story, Crimson Peak, and now the first image from it has arrived featuring Jessica Chastain looking downright spooky.
Starring Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska, and Charlie Hunnam, the film has been described as a haunted house story and a gothic romance, which could be amazing in the hands of someone like Del Toro. He hasn't been in territory this dark since Pan's Labyrinth, and just this image alone is worth getting excited about. Here's the official synopsis:
In the aftermath of a family tragedy, an aspiring author is torn between love for her childhood friend and the temptation of a mysterious outsider. Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers.
Hopefully this means a trailer is right around the corner, preferably the one shown at Comic-Con last summer which was fantastic. Surprisingly it hasn't made a way to the Internet yet.
