Kat Dennings has gained a pretty big following for the snarky characters she tends to play, whether it's every week on 2 Broke Girls or for her comic relief roles in the Thor movies. We haven't had much of a chance to see her dramatic side, but that's changing with the true life drama To Write Love on her Arms.
Dennings plays 19-year-old Renee Yohe, whose struggles with addiction and suicide inspired Jamie Tworkowski (Chad Michael Murray) to create a charitable organization helping others deal with the same issues. The trailer isn't too impressive, and doesn't suggest it will deal with the subject in any kind of a hard-hitting way. Actually, it looks and sounds like something that should be airing on the CW.
To Write Love on her Arms opens in March.
