Naomie Harris offered role in Bond 23?

Even after appearing in two of the last three Pirates of the Caribbean flicks, Naomie Harris still isn't the star she deserves to be. After kicking much ass in Danny Boyle's 28 Days Later, Harris seemed ready for a break out. Not only can she do tough, but she's sexy as hell. That's a potentially lethal combination we saw put to good use in movies like After the Sunset, Miami Vice, and Street Kings. Maybe what she needs is to have her name added to the long list of Bond girls? Hey, it's worked for others in the past. After being rumored for a role in the next Bond flick by tabloid magazine News of the World, Shadow and Act are now confirming an offer has been made.

The tabloid previously had her pegged as Bond's sidekick in the film, currently referred to as Bond 23. Harris is keeping it secret, though, and hasn't actually accepted the offer yet as far as anyone knows. Sam Mendes is set to begin shooting the film in the fall, so I'd expect we'll hear more soon. There are a lot of questions still out there.  Daniel Craig will be back, and apparently Ralph Fiennes is on board for some sort of "complex" role. Whether or not Javier Bardem is in there remains to be seen. I'm thinking it depends on if he continues on with The Dark Tower. There's also a rumor of Rachel Weisz playing a villain role. Then there's the title, which had been mentioned as possibly being Red Sky At Night, but nothing's been heard since. I doubt they'll stick with it, but y'never know!

Bond 23 is set to open on October 26th 2012!
