Trailer Time: Melancholia, starring Kirsten Dunst and Charlotte Gainsbourg

There's little doubt in my mind that Melancholia will be another beautiful, thought provoking film from eccentric filmmaker Lars Von Trier. Even when he makes bad movies, his choices are always interesting. But beyond that, my hope is that it'll catapult Kirsten Dunst into A-list territory, where I think she deserves to be. Her transition from being just a hot, down to earth chick in teen oriented films into a respectable actress in more mature stuff has been awkward to say the least. However she turned the corner opposite Ryan Gosling in All Good Things, and Melancholia looks like the logical next step. By most accounts, her performance is one of the film's great strengths.

A new trailer for the disaster film has been released, and it's not much different than the others. It deals with two quarreling sisters(Dunst and Charlotte Gainsbourg) dealing with their various familial issues against the backdrop of earth's impending destruction. Sound fun?  Check out the new trailer below...

Melancholia will be available On Demand on October 7th, before hitting theaters on November 11th.
