New poster and trailer for Pixar's 'Brave'!
Pixar's upcoming fairy tale, Brave, has gone through a lot of changes along the way. Originally titled The Bow and the Bear, Brenda Chapman came up with the idea for the Scottish set story, and was set to direct. It made sense, having one of animation's female vets tackling Pixar's first feature with a female lead. Then the glass ceiling came crashing down around her, and she was fired about halfway through due to creative differences.
The film was renamed Brave, with Mark Andrews taking over the reins. Throughout all the tumult, Brave has never looked less than stunning visually, and spirit of the lead character, a rebellious Scottish princess named Merida, has shown through in every image and trailer we've seen thus far.
The latest trailer for Brave has been released, and unlike the others this one focuses less on Merida's quest to save her father's kingdom from a curse her own impetuousness has caused. Instead we get a comical look at an archery showdown in which Merida shows not only her skill with a bow, but her bullheaded nature. Kevin Costner's Robin Hood called and he would like his splitting arrows trick back.....
Brave will open in 2D and 3D on June 22nd!
