Latino spinoff to be teased during 'Paranormal Activity 4' credits

The 'Activity' has never been limited to just America, folks. Paranormal Activity 4 is coming our way in a couple of weeks, and the franchise doesn't seem to be slowing down one bit. In fact, Paramount seems more invested in the Halloween staple than ever. Last April a rumor surfaced that a Latino-themed spinoff was being planned for early next year, and while we didn't hear anything else about it, it was apparently true.

Bloody Disgusting has learned that the Latino spinoff will be teased in a short clip during the post-credits sequence of Paranormal Activity 4. Christopher Landon, who wrote the last two movies, will script and direct, with Oren Peli and Jason Blum producing. The film is described as a "cousin" to the series, not a true sequel or reboot, and will be based in Catholic paranormal mythology. Yep, everything we heard before.

This wouldn't be the first time a Paranormal Activity film was developed with a specific ethnic group in mind, as Paranormal Activity 2: Tokyo Night was released back in 2010, and had the same demon which possessed Katie harassing some Japanese exchange students. Looking at the storyline overall, 'Tokyo Night' doesn't really fit in or make much sense, so I'll be curious to see if the plot of the Latino film is more in line. So be sure to hang out for awhile when the Paranormal Activity 4 credits roll on October 19th.
