Kelsey Grammer will play the human villain in 'Transformers 4'

There's no doubt that Kelsey Grammer has been a force on the small screen, having rolled a minor part in Cheers to what turned out to be an incredible 11-year run on Frasier. But on the big screen it's been a different story, and other than appearing as Dr. Hank "Beast" McCoy in X-men: The Last Stand, Grammar hasn't had much of an impact as a movie star. Well, unless you count Down Periscope...which nobody in their right mind would. But he's getting another crack at the big time by joining Michael Bay for Transformers 4.

Grammar will play the human villain in the developing blockbuster, joining Mark Wahlberg, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, and Nicola Peltz. Details on his character are non-existent as the plot (Ha!!!) is being kept under wraps. All we know is that his character is named Harold Attinger and works in counter-intelligence. Just figure that giant robots will blow sh*t up real good, there will be plenty of racial stereotypes (sometimes even the Transformers are insulting), and most of the film will consist of slow-motion shots of supermodels.

It's something of a comeback year for Grammar, who saw his excellent turn in Boss go to waste when the show was recently cancelled. Grammar voices the evil Sideshow Bob on The Simpsons, and will put his vocal talents to good use in Monsters University. Transformers 4 opens on June 27th 2014.  [Deadline]
