The Barden Bellas are Back in First Trailer for 'Pitch Perfect 2'

Let's be completely honest here: EVERYONE loves Pitch Perfect, am I right? The film was not just a surprising hit back in 2012, coming out of nowhere to earn more than $117M basically from word-of-mouth, but the soundtrack also found itself at the top of the charts. How many Pitch Perfect sing-a-long screenings have there been across the country since then? Too many to count, and they aren't likely to go away any time soon now that Pitch Perfect 2 is on the way, with the first trailer here now to get you all warmed up for more a cappella fun.

All of the Barden Bellas you know and love are back: Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Anna Camp, Alexis Knapp, Brittany Snow, and the rest, along with new addition Hailee Steinfeld. The stakes have been upped as the Bellas prepare to graduate from college and hit the real world, but not before they take part in the world championships which. This trailer emphasizes the bond forged between the women, which also speaks to the connection the earlier film had with audiences.

Elizabeth Banks steps behind the camera for Pitch Perfect 2, opening May 15th 2015.

Adam DeVine Returns as Bumper Allen in 'Pitch Perfect 2'

The last time we saw Adam DeVine's Bumper Allen in Pitch Perfect, he was leaving his acapella crew The Treblemakers high and dry, becoming a back-up singer for John Mayer. Maybe it was a short tour or Bumper's notorious ego got in the way because he'll be returning to lead his all-male team in Pitch Perfect 2.

Deadline confirms that DeVine will return for the sequel to 2012's hit comedy which Elizabeth Banks will direct. He joins Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, Alexis Knapp, and Skylar Astin. Kay Cannon, who wrote the first film, will pen the sequel but there are no plot details that might explain Bumper's return or anything else for that matter. Maybe he's coming back to finally hook up with Fat Amy? Or maybe hit her with another burrito?

Pitch Perfect 2 opens May 15th 2015.

The Barden Bellas Recruit Hailee Steinfeld for 'Pitch Perfect 2'

The Barden Bellas are about to add a new voice. With Elizabeth Banks set to direct Pitch Perfect 2, and much of the cast expected to return, the first big new addition to the cast is Hailee Steinfeld.

Steinfeld will join the returning Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Alexis Knapp, and Brittany Snow in the sequel to 2012's surprise hit, which earned $113M and was the top selling soundtrack of 2013. There is some indication that Steinfeld, who will play one of the Bellas, may take over the franchise if a a third film is green lit, but Variety's story does not mention it.  Kay Cannon, who wrote the first film, is also writing the sequel but plot details are still unknown.

This will be the second song-base film for Steinfeld as she'll star in musical romance, Begin Again, opposite Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo. Pitch Perfect 2 opens May 15th 2015.

You worried about her nodes in Pitch Perfect. You cheered when she overcame this terrible disability (and being a ginger) to help lead the Barden Bellas to victory with her newly-found booming voice. And now we'll get to see what's next for Chloe as Brittany Snow will be back for Pitch Perfect 2.

Deadline reports that Snow has signed on for Elizabeth Banks-directed sequel, joining the confirmed Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson. Still no word on the story being hatched by returning writer, Kay Cannon, or if it'll call for other members of the team to do an encore. Skylar Astin previously stated he had met with Universal about about the sequel but he has not yet been confirmed to return as that guy who really likes The Breakfast Club. There were dudes in Pitch Perfect? I hadn't noticed or just blocked them out.

Pitch Perfect 2 will hit theaters on May 15th 2015.

Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson Officially Returning for 'Pitch Perfect 2'

What would the Barden Bellas be without their rebellious leader and her wise-cracking sidekick? With Pitch Perfect 2 on the way and Elizabeth Banks making it her directorial debut (after producing and co-starring in the first film), it was always sort of expected that Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson would be back, and now it's official.

Kendrick, who has been busy with a whopping three movies at Sundance (Happy Christmas, The Voices, Life After Beth), will return as Beca, with Wilson as Fat Amy. Kay Cannon wrote the first film and will pen the sequel, but there are no plot details just yet. It shouldn't be too hard to figure out though, right? As long as the musical mash-ups are hot it won't matter all that much.

Pitch Perfect 2 will open May 15th 2015.
