The Rock gears up to provide PROTECTION
It feels like I haven't seen The Rock in a long time. I mean, I've seen Dwayne Johnson plenty. Too much actually, in films like Tooth Fairy and Race to Witch Mountain. But the last time I saw him do anything remotely action packed was...Doom? And jeebus that was back in 2005! Now it looks like he might finally be ready to put his action hat back on.
Johnson has signed on to replace Clive Owen(Closer) in the upcoming one-man army flick, Protection. Owen had recently replaced Paul Walker(Running Scared) on the troubled project. Johnson would be starring as a special forces soldier who takes on a Mexican drug cartel in an effort to protect a judge's daughter.
Protection has gone through so many changes that nailing down a start date is impossible. Along with the previously mentioned Owen and Walker departing, director Patrick Alessandrin(District 13: Ultimatum) has also left. He had been brought on to replace Simon West, so right now there is no helmer attached at all.
