Trailer Time: The Chaperone, starring Triple H

"How low can you go? How low can you go?"  The WWE continues to impress me with their ability to make every new film they produce somehow worse than the last. I thought last year's Knucklehead was a disaster, but it ain't got nothin' on The Chaperone. Phew!  Paul Levesque, aka The Game, aka The King of Kings, aka Triple H, aka Mr. Stephanie McMahon has been on sabbatical from wrestling in order to wrap up shooting on this movie, and I'm sure after watching the final product he wishes he had spent that time getting dropped on his head.

Triple H stars as an ex-con who gets out of prison determined to do things right. He'll stay out of trouble, and hopefully forge a bond with his estranged daughter. But times are tough, and he agrees to one last job as a wheelman for his old running buddies. At the last second he changes his mind and decides to chaperone his daughter's field trip, which doesn't make his old mates happy. When the robbery goes bad, they chase the school bus all around town. >sigh<  Oh it looks so terrible....

Triple H has gotten by on WWE TV because he's been forced down our throats thanks to Vince McMahon being his daddy-in-law. Without the benefit of piped in laugh tracks you get a good look at just how unfunny Triple H really is. Not that anybody could've made some of the jokes we see in this trailer work, but they're even less funny told by him with his dull, stiff delivery.  The second half of the trailer gets even worse, looking like a combination of Bustin' Loose and Kindergarten Cop. I can scarcely think of a combination I want to see less.

If it follows the same path as Knucklehead and Legendary, expect a handful of theaters(literally 3 or 4) to carry it for a day or two, then it'll be out on DVD the very next week, expected to be some time in March.
