So...Tarantino's film is NOT a Western starring Franco Nero? Que?
Ok, this whole Tarantino "Spaghetti Western" thing is getting a bit out of control. It started with Italian actor Franco Nero saying his next project was a spaghetti western with Quentin Tarantino attached. Keith Carradine and Treat Williams would star. Cool. Then came a confirmation of the project and the announcement of Christoph Waltz's involvement. Still cool. Then Tarantino chimed in himself, saying that the script was essentially done and that he'd turn it in to the Weinsteins in two months. VERY cool.
Now this, which comes from Mr. Beaks over at Aint It Cool News, who says that the film Franco Nero is talkin' about aint the Tarantino Western at all. Ok, so what the hell was Nero talking about? He very clearly names Tarantino as a participant, but never stresses to what degree. This basically kills the idea that Tarantino's movie is a Western at all.
So to sum up, what we have is a potential Spaghetti Western featuring Nero, Williams, and Carradine, with Tarantino involved in some capacity. The possible title is The Angel, The Bad, and The Wise.
Tarantino is working on an as yet unnamed film which will feature Christoph Waltz, but what genre it fits in to is unclear. Of course I hope it's Kill Bill 3 but that's not likely. With all the ideas he's got floating around I think it would be pointless to speculate. Expect more news to follow as this is clearly the hottest story going right now.
