Sword planted firmly in teaser camp, the first trailer for Marcus Nispel's Conan the Barbarian gives away exactly nothing. Except that Jason Momoa looks pretty chiseled behind a wall of smoke. We do get a glimpse of Rachel Nichols as Tamara, and I think a very brief look at Rose McGowan as the evil witch Marique. Check out the teaser trailer below!
This is an important film for Nispel, who has seen limited success with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
and Friday the 13th
remakes. Pathfinder
, his 2007 film that looks an awful lot like a Conan riff, was a critical and box office disaster. Conan the Barbarian stars Jason Momoa, Bob Sapp, Stephen Lang, Rose McGowan, Rachel Nichols, and Ron Perlman. It's due to hit theaters on August 19th!
