Sure Shots: Clash of the Titans 3; Jason Statham; The Adventures of Tintin

* Clash of the Titans may have proven to be a hit last year, but response to it and the dismal 3D presentation was overwhelmingly negative. So what did Warner Brothers do? They immediately greenlit a sequel, Wrath of the Titans, which will hit on March 30th 2012. With humans battling gods becoming passe lately(Immortals opens next week), the success of 'Wrath' is hardly assured. Warner Brothers is pretty confident, though, as they've brought back the film's writers, Dan Mazeau and David Leslie Johnson, to start hammering out the script for Clash of the Titans 3. Excited? [THR]

* Never let it be said that Jason Statham isn't looking to broaden his horizons. The action star is set to play an elite Special Forces agent for I think the fifth film in a row as part of Hummingbird, the directorial debut from writer Steven Knight(Eastern Promises). The story has Statham playing the agent, who ventures into the London criminal underworld and takes on a new identity as an avenging angel. Heavy stuff. [Deadline]

* Just last week word dropped that Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson had already begun pre-production work on a sequel to The Adventures of Tintin. Jackson would direct the next installment, based on a script by Anthony Horowitz(Stormbreaker) which at the time was said to be Prisoners of the Sun, and would combine that Tintin story with The Seven Crystal Balls. Talking to the BBC, Horowitz revealed that's not quite correct anymore. The third film may indeed be Prisoners of the Sun, but the script he's working on now may be something totally different. The Adventures of Tintin will fly into theaters on December 21st. [BleedingCool]
