1st look at Sylvester Stallone in 'Bullet to the Head'

How old is Sylvester Stallone now? 65? For his advanced age, dude doesn't seem to be stopping or even slowing down at all. In fact he's lining up more physically demanding action flicks now than ever with The Expendables sequel due out next summer, and his taking over the lead role in The Tomb from his equally ancient running buddy, Arnold Schwarzenegger. But where we'll see Stallone next is in the revenge thriller/buddy pic, Bullet to the Head.

IM Global has released the first image from the film, which stars Stallone as a New Orleans hitman teaming up with a NYC detective(Sung Kang) to seek revenge for two vicious murders. Jason Momoa, Christian Slater, Sarah Shahi, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Holt McCallany, and Jon Seda co-star.  Doesn't sound like Stallone will be stretching himself much here, but really...does anybody want him to? I don't.

The film is directed by the great Walter Hill(The Warriors), who took over after Wayne Kramer(The Cooler) left the project because his vision didn't exactly mesh with that of Stallone's. And since Stallone is the talent, it's his idea that won out. Kramer wanted to make the film grittier, more violent. Stallone...well, he wanted throw in an Asian to get some of that interracial comedy goin' that we all know and love, and lighten up the tone a little. I like the sound of Kramer's version better, but with the criminally underused Hill behind the camera this is a film I can't help but be a little hyped for. We'll see how things shake out when Bullet to the Head opens on April 13th.
