Sean Faris to star in Bonnie and Clyde remake

Tonya S. Holly's troubled remake of Bonnie and Clyde has finally found itself a leading man. You probably won't know who he is unless you're 14 years old and watch The Vampire Diaries, but here he is nonetheless. Sean Faris has snagged the role made iconic by Warren Beatty in the 1967 film about the two young lovers turned bank robbers.  Lindsay Pulsipher(True Blood) is set to play Bonnie, attempting to fill the shoes left by Faye Dunaway.

At one point Hilary Duff and Kevin Zegers(Transamerica) were set to star in the film, until Duff got bought off to not be in it, and Zegers sorta vanished.  The story will be less a remake(yeah right) and will be based on newspaper clippings which will show them in a totally different light. Again, I have my doubts. Thora Birch and Taryn Manning were also rumored for roles but they....also kinda disappeared. Whatever. Probably for the best.

Faris recently starred in the 1980s style martial arts brawler, Never Back Down, which truly wasn't all that bad. [Variety]
