Hmph. Well, let's hope the movie is better than this rather dull new teaser poster for The Bourne Legacy. Whether or not series writer turned director Tony Gilroy can pull a rabbit out of a hat and make this work without Matt Damon in the lead role is anybody's guess, but a lot of people are optimistic due to the presence of Jeremy Renner. I'm just not one of those people. Renner's a solid, charismatic actor and looks to be fitting into the role of agent Aaron Cross just fine. It's just that to me, it's like making Indiana Jones 5 and having the film be about Sallah.
I'm banking on Edward Norton, Rachel Weisz, Oscar Isaac, and the rest of the superb supporting cast to carry the load, and hopefully the film will be enough of a success that Damon and Paul Greengrass will want to come back. Fingers crossed.
