Dylan Kidd will finally 'Get A Job'; wants Anna Kendrick, Jesse Eisenberg for new comedy

Back in 2002, Dylan Kidd made a splash with his directorial debut, Roger Dodger. A film I constantly refer back to as one of the smartest examinations of male/female relationships in recent memory, it helped launch the career of Jesse Eisenberg, who played a socially awkward young man(wha!!?) who gets a lesson on how to mack on the ladies during the course of one evening. For whatever reason, Kidd never capitalized on the film's success, and hasn't made a feature since 2004.  He's looking to jump back behind the camera now, and again he's looking to work with a core of hot young talent.

Kidd is attached to direct Get A Job, a new comedy for CBS Films about a recent college graduate and his friends who discover that entering the real world and the work force during a recession kinda sucks. Miles Teller, who shot to fame after starring opposite Nicole Kidman in Rabbit Hole, is in talks to star. He'll be seen next in the low budget Todd Phillips comedy, Project X.  Offers are also out to Anna Kendrick, Bryan Cranston, and there's a good chance Eisenberg will show up for a cameo. Christopher Mintz-Plasse and SNL's Jay Pharoah are also circling roles.

I keep waiting for Kidd to make good on the promise of Roger Dodger, and this may be the film that does it.  Production could begin as soon as next month, although CBS Films hasn't officially given it the green light yet. If Kendrick, Cryanston, or Eisenberg agree to be a part of it, that'll all but ensure it gets made. [Variety]
