When Philip Noyce(Salt) backed out of directing Hunter/Killer, the film he most eagerly jumped to was Timeless, a science fiction romance that sounds a lot like The Lake House meets The Time Traveler's Wife. Written by Bill Kelly(Enchanted), the film centers on a man who puts together a time travel device, financed by the money his late wife has left him, in order to go back in time and visit her one more time to resolve some lingering questions.
It seems like a prime star making vehicle for somebody,and in this case Noyce has chosen one of the fast rising actors in Hollywood who is looking for a film to call his own. Liam Hemsworth is the man to lead the film, which will hopefully start shooting in July.
Quickly gaining on his older brother in terms of notoriety, Liam has had a busy year starring opposite Miley Cyrus in The Last Song. This year will be even bigger as he'll be a major player in two major franchises, The Hunger Games and The Expendables 2. [Moviehole]
