It may seem like Natalie Portman was everywhere in 2011, but really she's been out of the movie scene for quite awhile. Four movies came out that had her name plastered all over them(don't forget Hesher!), and then she vanished to do something silly and trivial....like giving birth. Pfft! Get back to work you slacker! You still owe us for Your Highness! Well I guess the little rug rat is getting old enough for nanny care, because Portman is making her way back, and her first post-baby role may be in The Wachowski's anticipated sci-fi flick, Jupiter Ascending.
Details on the film remain scarce, but we know it'll be the first thing they tackle once Cloud Atlas is completed. This wouldn't be the first time she's worked with the duo, having starred in their production of V for Vendetta, directed by their buddy James McTeigue. She also was circling a role in Cloud Atlas early on. The only thing that might stand in the way now is the scheduling for Thor 2, which she's contractually bound for.
Right now, the source says she's only in talks, but this seems like the perfect comeback vehicle for her. It'd be quite the boon for The Wachowskis as well, who I think will be looking for something far more marketable than Cloud Atlas appears to be. [24 Frames]
