'Dr. Who' star joins 'Star Trek' sequel

There are more mysteries and secrets than realities when it comes to JJ Abrams' Star Trek sequel. All we really know is that the whole cast is expected to return, and there will be a bad guy of some sort. Personally I wish Abrams would announce the whole story will be them fixing a broken Holo-deck and call it a day. One other thing we can be sure of is a steady injection of new talent should help keep the franchise fresh.

The latest to enlist is Noel Clarke, who will be familiar to Dr. Who fans as Mickey Smith on the hit sci-fi series. Clarke's role is described in such a vague way that it's sorta suspicious. He'll play a "family man with a wife and young daughter". There has to be more to it than that. Dont be surprised if more emerges on it later. He joins the other new faces, Alice Eve and Peter Weller. Edgar Ramirez has been mentioned as a possibility to play the villain, although nothing is confirmed at this stage.

Star Trek 2 should dock into theaters on May 17th 2013. [Variety] - Posted using BlogPress from my iPad
