Garrett Hedlund, Jennifer Hudson, Amy Adams, and Terrence Howard join Andrew Levitas' 'Lullaby'

The word "multihyphenate" was created for people like Andrew Levitas. A renowned painter and sculptor since he was just a child, he's grown into a fixture on the New York art scene. Since that wasn't enough, he's branched out into the world of film, stage, and television, appearing in a number of plays, as well as acting in and producing a number of films, including last year's The Art of Getting By with Freddie Highmore and Emma Roberts. Now he's making his directorial debut, and has pulled in an Oscar worthy cast for it.

Levitas has snagged Terrence Howard, Amy Adams, Richard Jenkins, Garrett Hedlund, Jennifer Hudson, and Jessica Brown Findlay(Downtown Abbey) to star in Lullaby, with plans for filming to begin this June. Four past Oscar contenders in one film? That's incredible for even the most seasoned filmmaker.  Based on Levitas' own screenplay, the story is described as:

"Estranged from his family, Jonathan (Hedlund) receives word that his father, Robert (Jenkins), who has been fighting illness for over a decade has chosen to take himself off life support in less than forty-eight hours. What follows is an unexpected journey of love, laughter, and forgiveness."

Sounds like it could be pretty heavy, but I'm curious to see what such a creative voice like Levitas can bring to a project such as this. Chances are we'll see it some time in 2013.
