1st look at Forest Whitaker in 'The Butler'; plus new set photos

Why, hello Oscar voters. There's little doubt that whenever The Butler rolls into theaters, it's going to be an instant awards contender. It's got the cred behind the camera with Academy Award nominee Lee Daniels directing. There's real life drama and historical significance in the story of Eugene Allen, an African-American man who served as a White House butler for more than thirty years under eight administrations, watching the civil rights movement grow from his unique vantage point. Oh, and then there's the jaw-dropping cast.

The first image from The Butler has been released, featuring Forest Whitaker as Allen, seen mostly in silhouette. Based on a script by Butler and Danny Strong(Game Change), the film includes a ton of A-list talent portraying important historical figures. Oprah Winfrey will play Allen's wife, David Oyelowo as his son, with Alan Rickman, Jane Fonda, James Marsden, Minka Kelly, Robin Williams, Terrence Howard, Cuba Gooding Jr., Lenny Kravitz, Liam Neeson, Vanessa Redgrave, Liev Schreiber, Nelsan Ellis, and a whole lot more joining in.

Filming is currently underway in New Orleans, and we've also got a couple of set snaps of James Marsden and the stunning Minka Kelly as John and Jackie Kennedy....[Variety/WWTDD]
