New trailer for 'The Impossible', starring Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor

If the new trailer for The Impossible doesn't fill you with hope and joy, I'm not sure what will. It seems like we've seen a lot already from the film, which tells the true story of how one family survived the 2004 tsunami that devastated southeast Asia, but the newly released domestic trailer is the best so far.

Backed by Damien Rice's haunting cover of U2's 'One', the trailer features Naomi Watts and Ewan McGregor as a married couple, and the daunting emotional struggle to reunite their family after Thailand is hit by the crushing wave, which killed over 200,000 people in multiple countries. It's refreshing to see a natural disaster film that isn't bombastic and over-the-top, instead choosing to look at the real human drama at the heart of such a horrific event. Plus, Juan Antonio Bayona(The Orphanage) looks to have done an incredible job recreating the tsunami itself and all the repercussions.

The Impossible is set to release on December 21st, and if this trailer is anything to go by, we may be hearing more about it come awards season. Check out the trailer below....
