So it looks like that Dumb and Dumber sequel, revealed by Jim Carrey to be titled Dumb and Dumber To(ha ha ha....ugh), is still very much on. Or at the very least, everybody other than Carrey is acting like it is. If you'll recall, a proper sequel to the 1994 hit comedy that helped launch Carrey's career has been in the works for awhile, with the Farrelly Brothers on board along with co-star Jeff Daniels. Carrey was gung-ho for it, too, until he started to get cold feet and exited the picture. Turns out it his problem had more to do with the studio perhaps taking too slow an approach. But Daniels insisted that Carrey was still in and that the film was still happening, and now Bobby Farrelly is backing up that sentiment.
Farrelly recently had a chance to talk about the sequel, and states that the notoriously sequel-shy Carrey is willing to take part....
Farrelly: “[Jim Carey and Jeff Daniels] are in a point in their career where they had so much fun the first time that they’re willing to do it. We will make this movie.”
He also went on to say that the plot may revolve around one of the two grown up morons having had a child, and their search to find the kid so they can use one of his kidneys. I'm not making that up, folks. Farrelly hopes for filming to begin in the spring for a fall 2013 release. [IGN]
