If you can look past last year's terrible alien invasion film, The Darkest Hour, then it's clear that Max Minghella is a star on the rise. Hard to believe the same guy who was so bad in Art School Confidential that I nearly walked out on it has starred in some of my favorite recent films in The Social Network and The Ides of March. He's also got a handful of great ones on the way, and now he may be about to add one more to the pile.
Variety reports that Minghella may be joining Daniel Radcliffe in Horns, based on the supernatural mystery/romance from author Joe Hill. Alexandre Aja(Piranha 3D) is directing the film with a script by Keith Bunin. Radcliffe plays Ig Perrish, who wakes up one day to discover he has magical horns growing from his head. Their power forces others to confess their sins, which Ig uses to help uncover the truth surrounding his girlfriend's murder. Minghella would play Lee Tourneau, a public defender with a dark side he tries to keep hidden.
Filming on Horns is slated to begin this fall. Minghella is currently filming The Internship with Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, and will be seen next in Ten Years, due out on September 14th.
