Willem Dafoe and Jean-Marc Barr confirmed for 'The Nymphomaniac'; Nicole Kidman exits
With Uma Thurman recently joining the cast of Lars Von Trier's hardcore/softcore porn flick, The Nymphomaniac, is it possible she was replacing the now exiting Nicole Kidman? Kinda looks that way, as Kidman has left the production due to scheduling conflicts with her title role in Grace of Monaco. Oh well. Von Trier still hasn't had any trouble getting his old collaborators to sign up for the film's apparently real on-screen sex scenes, and you can add two more that have been confirmed.
Willem Dafoe(Antichrist) and Jean-Marc Barr(Breaking the Waves) are now officially on board after being rumored for quite some time. The film stars Charlotte Gainsbourg(Melancholia) as a woman who recounts her sexual history to a bachelor played by Stellan Skarsgard after he discovers her badly beaten in an alley. Shia LaBeouf, Connie Nielsen, Jamie Bell, Udo Kier, and Christian Slater are all expected to get busy in the film at some point. Caroline Goodall, Kate Ashfield, Saskia Reeves and Omar Shargawi round out the ensemble.
Filming is currently underway with a 2013 festival release likely. Probably at Cannes. [THR]
