Because Roland Emmerich didn't do enough damage to the White House in Independence Day, he's now threatening democracy from within with the upcoming action flick, White House Down. When democracy in this country is threatened, the only one who can save it is....Channing Tatum.
EW(via HeyUGuys) has unveiled the first photos from the film, which has Tatum as a buff, tank-topped Secret Service Agent who must rescue the President when the White House is overrun by insurgents. Jamie Foxx is POTUS in this scenario, with Maggie Gyllenhaal, Richard Jenkins, James Woods, Garcelle Beauvais, and Jason Clarke co-starring.
This would be pretty cool if Tatum was Duke and this was some sort of G.I. Joe spinoff, but it isn't and under Emmerich's guidance it's hard to get too excited. White House Down hits on June 29th...
