1st trailer for 'I Give It A Year' with Rose Byrne and Rafe Spall

This has turned out to be a banner year for romantic comedies, with more than a few attempting to tackle the well-worn genre from new and interesting directions. While The Five-Year Engagement was a surprising disappointment, others such as Friends with Kids, Ruby Sparks, and Silver Linings Playbook were fantastic. Hopefully that trend can continue into 2013 with the release of I Give It A Year, which we're now getting a first look at.

Marking the directorial debut of Borat scribe Dan Mazer, the film stars the likable duo of Rafe Spall(Life of Pi) and Rose Byrne(X-men: First Class) as a mismatched couple trying to get through their first year of marriage, even though everyone they know things they won't make it. Temptations arise in the form of an ex-girlfriend played by Anna Faris, along with a client played by Simon Baker. While the jokes seem like standard stuff, it's hard not to have confidence with an ensemble as good as this, with Minnie Driver, Stephen Merchant, and Jason Flyming taking on some showy smaller parts.

I Give It A Year opens in the U.K. on February 8th, and we'll probably have it on our shores soon after. Check out the trailer below....[Yahoo! UK]
