We was duped!! Nicolas Cage not confirmed for 'The Expendables 3'

Well, a couple of days ago I speculated that Sylvester Stallone was drunk when a strangely worded statement appeared on his Facebook page about The Expendables 3. In it, Sly not only confirmed earlier rumors of Nicolas Cage joining the cast, but also about his continued effort to corral Clint Eastwood, Wesley Snipes, and Harrison Ford. Turns out he wasn't drunk. Turns out it wasn't Sly making those comments at all, and the site wasn't even his Facebook page. Oops!

Sly took to Deadline to state that he “has no knowledge of Nic Cage joining Expendables 3,”. The page where the claims occurred were either a Stallone fan page or were taken from comments he made in Spain while on a junket for The Expendables 2. But what Stallone doesn't mention is that it was producer Avi Lerner who first brought Cage, Eastwood, Snipes, Ford, and Mickey Rourke into the mix by saying he'd approached them and that they already had Cage aboard. So maybe Sly should be having a conversation with Lerner.

Whatever. So it looks like Cage isn't official yet, and who knows if he ever will be. Right now it looks like the only thing we can definitely confirm is that The Expendables 3 will happen, assuming nobody breaks a hip or anything.
