Was there any doubt? Garrett Hedlund confirms his return for 'Tron 3'

Garrett Hedlund: “Yeah, are we gonna break this now? Disney’s very excited. That’s about that. You know, yeah, I’m very excited, Disney’s very excited.”

It's ok, dude. Go ahead and break it. I'm not sure there were people who actually thought you wouldn't come back for Tron 3, but now we know that you are. Cool deal. Just last week we learned Disney was still keen on pushing forward with the Tron: Legacy follow-up, hiring Jesse Wigutow to pen the script. They wouldn't have bothered to do it without Hedlund already signed, sealed, and delivered.

We can probably expect to see Olivia Wilde return, since her character was last seen hugged up with Hedlund on the back of his motorcycle. The Joseph Kosinski-directed sequel should begin to pick up speed now as Disney sees this as one of their major franchises, so don't be surprised if more names are revealed soon. They could probably use a veteran presence to replace Jeff Bridges, right? [NextMovie]
