Rebecca Hall joins Johnny Depp in Wally Pfister's 'Transcendence'

It's looking like a pretty big year for Rebecca Hall, who probably six months ago people associated with smaller, indie films. Now she's got Iron Man 3 coming up in just a couple of months, and now she's joined Transcendence, the directorial debut of Christopher Nolan's long time cinematographer, Wally Pfister.

Hall had been rumored for the film awhile ago, along with Rooney Mara and Emily Blunt, making this one highly sought after role. She'll join Johnny Depp and Paul Bettany in the sci-fi flick about a scientist who uploads his brain into a supercomputer after he's assassinated. Hall would likely play the scientist wife of Depp's character.

With Nolan and his wife Emma Thomas producing, Transcendence is going to be a pretty big deal. The story is largely being kept in secret, par for the course for anything Nolan is remotely associated with. Hall knows how that works, though, as she co-starred in his magician film The Prestige. Look for the film to hit theaters next year on April 25th.
