Steven Spielberg and Daniel Day-Lewis Could Reteam for PTSD drama 'Thank You For Your Service'

The last time Steven Spielberg and Daniel Day-Lewis teamed up it produced one Best Actor win and a whopping twelve Oscar nominations. Lincoln became more than just another critically acclaimed film, both Spielberg and Day-Lewis are accustomed to those, but it's already considered a crucial depiction of an important time in American history. Movies like that don't come around often, and now the duo may be looking to strike gold a second time.

Last spring we learned that Dreamworks had picked up the rights to David Finkel's upcoming book, Thank You for Your Service, which follows the struggles of Iraq and Afghanistan War soldiers returning home with PTSD.  Spielberg was attached in an unclear capacity, but now he's eying the directing job himself, along with considering Day-Lewis for a role. All of this is happening because of red hot writer Jason Dean Hall, who adapted American Sniper for Spielberg and Bradley Cooper, and is now in talks to pen this film.

This is very early on and nothing may come of it, but for now the idea of Spielberg and Day-Lewis tackling such a hot button issue is one to be excited about. [Deadline]
