Win Free Passes to Angelika's After Hours Screening of 'Major League'

"You trying to tell me Jesus Christ can't hit a curve ball?" Yeah, we here at Punch Drunk Critics consider 1989's Major League to be a true sports classic, and for me in particular it's the best sports movie ever. Period. With a cast that includes Charlie Sheen, Wesley Snipes, Rene Russo, Dennis Haysberg, Corbin Bernsen, and Tom Berenger, it's the funniest baseball movie ever, which is why we're excited our friends at the Angelika Mosaic in Fairfax, VA have made it a part of their After Hours retro series. And of course, we want you to be there too.

Showings take place on Friday July 12th and Saturday July 13th at 11:45pm. We'll be selecting 10 winners to attend the event with a guest, and all you need to do is fire off an email to punchdrunkcritics@yahoo.com with 'Major League Angelika Contest' in the subject line. Please include your full name and favorite sports movie.  Winners will have their name added to the RSVP list for both night, and you can bring along a guest as well.

Because we do share such a close relationship with the fine folks at the Angelika, and they are doing this as a special treat to our readers, please do not enter if you can not attend.

Good luck! And I hope to see you there at the show! Full details are below.

ANGELIKA AFTER HOURS
Cult favorites return to the big screen

WHAT:  Major League- The new owner of the Cleveland Indians puts together a purposely horrible team so they'll lose and she can move the team to Miami. Surprisingly, this band of misfits – including has-been Jake Taylor (Tom Berenger), blind-as-a-bat pitcher Ricky Vaughn (Charlie Sheen), self-protective free agent Roger Dorn (Corbin Bernsen), and Willie Mays Hayes (Wesley Snipes), who is constitutionally incapable of hitting straight – begin winning games after learning of the plot. In a nailbiting 20-minute climax, the Indians face down their hated Yankee rivals in the pennant playoff game.

WHEN: Friday and Saturday night at 11:45 p.m.

WHERE:  Angelika Film Center & Cafe - Mosaic
8200 Strawberry Lane
Fairfax, Virginia 22031
