'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Fan Posters and Spoof "George Lucas Special Edition" Trailer

There will never be a time when making fun of George Lucas won't be funny, and with the Internet still high off the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer he's getting ripped anew. While we loved seeing the trailer redone in Lego style, what's even better is this "George Lucas Special Edition" version from YouTube user timtimfed which highlights Lucas' penchant for cramming each scene with needless CGI clutter.

Also, it was a given that we'd see some amazing fan-made artwork using some of the teaser's visuals, and here are four posters that Lucasfilm would be wise to use themselves. Of course the new lightsaber is a popular centerpiece image, but Phil Noto's poster featuring young stars John Boyega and Daisy Ridley is really good. He's been doing great work with Marvel, DC, and other publishers for a long time but this makes me want to see him on some Star Wars projects. [via FirstShowing]

New 'Guardians of the Galaxy' TV Spot, Star Wars-Style Poster, and IMAX 3D Details

One way Marvel can get everyone to stop talking about Ant-Man is by way of distraction, and the next shiny object to be dangled is Guardians of the Galaxy. Actually, the two movies are related by way of their quirkiness and Marvel's reluctance to have two major projects with a similar tone. James Gunn is at the helm and penned the script for 'Guardians', which has taken on a new level of importance with recent revelations about its ties to The Avengers 3 plus the addition of Josh Brolin as the voice of lunatic villain, Thanos. But there will be other surprises in store for those who check out the film in IMAX 3D, as revealed by Gunn on his Facebook page...

As an EXTRA benefit for those who see the film in IMAX 3D, we will be changing aspect ratios throughout the film in a way that makes the experience even fuller and more encompassing. I've personally chosen all the places where the changes occur and, again, I love how it's coming along. The changing aspect ratios in this case are actually a part of the storytelling.

It'll be interesting to see when and why these shifts occur but it's just another thing to keep an eye out for while on the hunt for Easter Eggs. Gunn has also endorsed an awesome unofficial poster done in the style of the original Star Wars one-sheet, along with more done by the artist collective known as the Poster Posse. While the Star Wars one is my favorite, the Marvel Comics poster is great too. There are actually a lot more images than this, which you can find here. Do go and check them out, then demand they be made into t-shirts.
Finally, a new TV spot has hit the screen that serves up more of Bradley Cooper's Rocket Raccoon and Glenn Close's ridiculous hair as the Nova Corps leader, Irani Rael. Guardians of the Galaxy opens August 1st.

Unofficial 'Star Wars: Episode VII' Poster Features Entire Cast

Long before the cast of the next Star Wars film was announced there were tons of fan made posters for it. We've posted a number of them here, and I tend to use them as graphics for stories involving Star Wars: Episode VII, leading to some confusion by readers who think they are official works. Sorry, but no. And now that we know who will actually be starring in it, the images featuring them are already starting to come in, but I didn't expect the first to be from MTV.

The site teamed up with Old Red Jalopy for this poster with all thirteen announced cast members in it. Some look better than others, naturally, like Domhnall Gleeson sort of resembling Ewan McGregor's Qui-Gon in his shot. I think they're being generous including a non-motion capture Andy Serkis, and that shot of John Boyega is pretty laughable. But it's cool seeing current versions Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford up there at the top, and don't tell me Max von Sydow doesn't strike you as the perfect bad guy right there in the forefront. Darth Sydow?

Anyway, get ready for a lot more of these until Lucasfilm gives us something official, maybe for tomorrow on Star Wars Day?

Jedi eyes the Millennium Falcon in cool 'Star Wars: Episode VII' fanmade poster

So far we've heard rumors of Star Wars spinoffs involving Jedi samurai and a young Han Solo. Cool ideas, to be sure, and artist Dog Hollywood has decided to kind of combine the the two ideas with a new fanmade poster for Star Wars: Episode VII. In it, we see a lone Jedi, wielding one of those evil red lightsabers, staring off at the arriving Millennium Falcon.

Han Solo vs. a Dark Sith? I'd pay to see that. Make it happen, Abrams!

We'll see if that 2015 release date holds up. I don't think it will.  Very nice poster, though.

Bad ass "provisional" poster for 'Star Wars: Episode VII'

While we're still not totally certain where Michael Arndt's script for Star Wars: Episode VII will go, fans are already beginning to speculate. It's expected to be set some time after Return of the Jedi and include older versions of Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Princess Leia. It also may include a female lead, while other rumors are suggesting Darth Vader may be brought back from the dead, somehow. It's this last possibility that drives the new one-sheet which Cine1 call a "provisional poster". I think that's just a more technical way of saying "fan made".

The poster features a shrouded Jedi, notably wielding a blue lightsaber, using his force powers to summon the iconic Darth Vader helmet.  Obi-Wan Kenobi used a blue lightsaber throughout, but also so did Anakin Skywalker before he turned to the path of the Dark Side and switched to the more ominous red saber. Luke also used a blue saber before he lost it and his hand to Vader.

Pretty cool image, and that tagline is something J.J. Abrams may want to adopt.

'Guardians of the Galaxy' and 'The Avengers' team-up in awesome fan made banner!

Although this fan made banner is merely a merging of two pieces of previously seen concept art, it's still cool to see The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy together in one place. Guardians of the Galaxy is primed to be the next big team flick from Marvel Studios, recently announced as hitting theaters on August 1st 2014. It'll be an integral piece in Marvel's Phase Two plans leading up to The Avengers sequel, along with Iron Man 3 on May 3rd 2013, Thor: The Dark World on November 8th 2013, Captain America: The Winter Soldier on April 4th 2014, and Ant-Man.

Ridley Scott's 'Prometheus', LEGO-style!

Because I'm still pretty high on Prometheus right now, I thought it'd be fun to revisit it....LEGO™ style! Everything is better when done in LEGO. Otherwise bad Harry Potter and Star Wars video games? Eh, just make everybody LEGO and suddenly they're entertaining and wildly popular.  The above image is the Prometheus poster, featuring the gigantic stone head that we....really still don't know much about from the movie.  Is it me or is the LEGO version some how creepier?

And below is a LEGO version of the great viral commercial featuring Michael Fassbender as the manipulative android, David. Again, it's somehow more disturbing now. Honestly, when I rewatch that David clip it reveals so much about his motivations during the movie. Both of these have been around for a bit, but I still laugh when I see them. If you haven't seen Prometheus yet, my review can be found here, or you can pre-order the Blu-Ray right now by going here. Enjoy!

New fan made posters for 'Man of Steel' and 'The Dark Knight Rises'

The whole fan made poster thing has become like a cottage industry unto itself. It started as a way for the fanboy community to show the big studios how to properly present and market the growing comic book/superhero movies, since in some cases it was like they had no idea what they were doing. And who would know better how to make a trailer or a poster for the X-men than somebody who has read them for decades? Even now, the fan made stuff is much better than anything official, with better and more creative artists putting their talents to use.

Such is the case with DevianART's Cure4, who has created a handful of nifty new one-sheets for Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, and Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. I love the first one, with Superman in Smallville hovering over a cornfield, symbolic of his humble beginnings.  Check those out below...
