'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Fan Posters and Spoof "George Lucas Special Edition" Trailer

There will never be a time when making fun of George Lucas won't be funny, and with the Internet still high off the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer he's getting ripped anew. While we loved seeing the trailer redone in Lego style, what's even better is this "George Lucas Special Edition" version from YouTube user timtimfed which highlights Lucas' penchant for cramming each scene with needless CGI clutter.

Also, it was a given that we'd see some amazing fan-made artwork using some of the teaser's visuals, and here are four posters that Lucasfilm would be wise to use themselves. Of course the new lightsaber is a popular centerpiece image, but Phil Noto's poster featuring young stars John Boyega and Daisy Ridley is really good. He's been doing great work with Marvel, DC, and other publishers for a long time but this makes me want to see him on some Star Wars projects. [via FirstShowing]

The 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Trailer in Lego is Pretty Awesome

How many times have you watched the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer? Be honest. By now you've probably read a thousand different "10 Amazing Things We Saw" posts about it, all of them pointing out the same stuff because the darn thing is only 90 seconds long. But here's one thing you haven't seen yet, and it's the trailer redone completely in Lego, because anything done in Lego is instantly better.

YouTube user SnooperKing put this together, apparently finding himself with an abundance of time on his hands. He's actually pretty good at this stuff and may have done his best work recreating the Episode VII teaser, building the X-wings, the little rolling droid, the speeder bikes, that weird lightsaber, and of course the Millennium Falcon. Check it out below!

'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' and 'Boyhood' Mashed-Up into the Awesome 'Apehood'

So in most markets this weekend you have a couple of great films to pick from, both technical achievements of very different stripes. One is Matt Reeves' CG marvel, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The other is Richard Linklater's Boyhood, a small coming-of-age film developed over a fairly large span of time. They may be about as different as two movies can be, but then again maybe not?

Nelson Carvajal has masterfully edited footage from 'Dawn' and Rise of the Planet of the Apes with the nostalgic music from Boyhood to create something that's hilarious but also pretty moving. It's very cool stuff so check it out below. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is out now (review here), while Boyhood opens here in DC next week although you can check out an early review here.

Fan Made 'Superman vs. Batman' Trailer with Ben Affleck and Bryan Cranston

Let the fan made madness again! We've got Ben Affleck all suited up as Batman for the Man of Steel sequel, and Bryan Cranston rumored (he's still not confirmed, people!) for Lex Luthor, and the comic book geeks are already dreaming up how the film will look with them on board. We're huge lovers of fan made posters and trailers around here, and this one by Youtube user solyentbrak1 is pretty cool. It's a trailer for Man of Steel 2 using old Ben Affleck footage to present a decent picture of how he could be as Batman. But what's even better is the use of Breaking Bad (as well as some others) to depict Cranston as an especially menacing Luthor.

The actual Man of Steel 2 hits theaters on July 17th 2015.

You knew it was coming! The 'Star Wars: Into Darkness' mash-up trailer

If somehow you were living under a hole, or in my case were 30,000 feet in the air when the big news broke, but J.J. Abrams is taking over the most sought after gig in Hollywood by directing Star Wars: Episode VII. Not only that, but he'll stick around to produce the next Star Trek film after Star Trek Into Darkness wraps up. So basically he's in charge of the two most influential and popular science fiction franchises ever. What's next, directing a Dr. Who movie?

So while the 'Trek' vs. 'Wars' debate will take an interesting turn for the next couple of years, it's also opened up the window for what will certainly be a wave of new mash-ups combining the two worlds. The first is out now, and it's basically the Star Trek Into Darkness score and mood backing images from the classic Star Wars. It works, but I'm expecting them to get far more elaborate over time. Thanks, Reddit!

Fan Made live-action 'Aquaman' trailer

Aquaman just can't get any respect. He's the friggin' king of the seas and yet he's like the Rodney Dangerfield of superheroes. I remember back in the day, in the earliest months of America Online, I use to regular going into the DC Comics chat room and arguing with the editors of his comic about how much he sucked. Ahhhh, the good old days, and all the headaches I gave poor Kevin Dooley. With Warner Brothers and DC revamping their superhero movie universe, there's been talk of a possible live-action Aquaman movie. Good luck with that.

One fan, theKamizeus, has decided to get a jump on it and present his take on what it could look like. He makes an interesting and believable choice of Liam Hemsworth to play Aquaman, with Emma Stone as his lady, Mera.  Not too shabby. Check it out below....
