New Trailer and Motion Posters for Disney's Star-Studded 'Into the Woods'

Fans of Broadway musicals are going to be very happy with the gifts bestowed upon them this holiday season. A new trailer has been released for Disney's star-studded Into the Woods, Rob Marshall's adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim musical fantasy featuring some of your favorite storybook characters like Red Riding Hood, the Big Bad Wolf, Cinderella, Rapunzel, and more. With the Annie remake also out there this Christmas, will audiences be willing to indulge in both?

A new trailer and a series of subtly animated motion posters have been released, showing off the impressive cast of Johnny Depp, Meryl Streep, Anna Kendrick, James Corden, Chris Pine, Billy Magnussen, Daniel Huttlestone, Lilla Crawford, and Mackenzie Mauzy. Into the Woods opens December 25th. Here's the synopsis:

“Into the Woods” is a modern twist on the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This humorous and heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy)—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife (James Corden & Emily Blunt), their wish to begin a family and their interaction with the witch (Meryl Streep) who has put a curse on them.

'The Divergent Series: Insurgent' to Open in 3D; New Motion Poster Featuring Ansel Elgort

As The Hunger Games begins to wind down with next month's 'Mockingjay', Divergent is just getting off the starting blocks. The Shailene Woodley-led film, based on the best selling YA series, pulled in a solid $288M for Lionsgate earlier this year, and with the sequel coming next March the studio has announced The Divergent Series: Insurgent will open in 3D. Cha-ching! Of course, there will also be a 2D option for those who don't necessarily need to see Theo James coming right at them, although I wouldn't complain if it was Maggie Q.

To celebrate this announcement, Lionsgate is releasing eight interactive 3D motion posters, the first featuring Ansel Elgort as Caleb, the brainy sibling to Woodley's "Tris" Prior, and of course her co-star in The Fault in Our Stars. A new poster will be revealed each hour, so all you need to do is come back here and click on the image to see which one is next!

The Divergent Series: Insurgent opens March 20th 2015.

Four Motion Posters Introduce the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'

The heroes on the half shell are headed back into theaters this summer courtesy of Michael Bay and Jonathan Liebesman's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Honestly, it doesn't look like anybody but Michael Bay had a hand in it but maybe we'll see more of Liebesman's influence in the final product. With the film now less than a month away, Paramount Pictures has released four awesome motion posters featuring Michaelangelo, Raphael, Leonardo, and Donatello in action.

Starring Megan Fox, Will Arnett, and William Fichtner, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opens August 8th, and hopefully there will be a Turtle Van sighting.

Two Web-Swingin' Motion Posters for 'The Amazing Spider-Man 2'

The speed and agility of Spider-Man can't really be captured in still images and posters, which is why it's cool Empire has released two new motion posters for The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Both feature Spider-Man web-swinging his way through a bustling New York City, really giving a small taste of the exhilaration star Andrew Garfield and director Marc Webb must have bringing Spidey to life on the big screen.  There isn't much in the way of new footage in either poster, but it's good to see them used in a slightly different way rather than pumped out in yet another trailer.

Starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Sally Field, Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan, and Chris Cooper, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens May 2nd 2014.
