Justin Timberlake to have 'Trouble With the Curve' alonside Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams

I look at Justin Timberlake as sorta like the Tom Brady of Hollywood. Dude has way too much working in his favor: good looks, hot chicks, and he's damn good at everything he puts his mind to. What kinda deal with the devil did this dude strike up, and where can I sign my name on the dotted line? Even worse, he's so quick to make fun of himself that it's impossible not to like him. Aaargh! Why can't he be a total douche canoe like everybody else?

2011 proved to be an interesting year for Timberlake, one where I think he took the final step towards legitimacy as an actor. It could be argued he had one of the best years of anybody around, getting a chance to show off his charming side romancing Mila Kunis in Friends With Benefits, acting like a total dork in Bad Teacher, and even trying his hand at an intelligent thriller like In Time. 2012 isn't looking too shabby either, as he's already set to work with the Coen Brothers in their folk music film, Inside Llewyn Davis. And now he's in talks to star alongside Clint Eastwood and Amy Adams in the baseball drama, Trouble With the Curve.

Marking Eastwood's first time in front of the camera since Gran Torino, he stars as an aging baseball scout slowly losing his eyesight who goes off with his daughter(Adams) on one final road trip to sign a hot prospect. Matthew Lillard plays a rival scout, while Timberlake would be Johnny Flanagan, a former pitcher turned scout for the New York Yankees and friend to Eastwood's character. If signed, Timberlake would have a shot at making out with Adams as her potential love interest in the film. Lucky dog.

Directed by Eastwood's long-time producing partner, Robert Lorenz, the film just yesterday received a September 28th release date. [Variety]
