Trailer Time: 'The Words', starring Bradley Cooper and Zoe Saldana

The Words turned out to be one of the most disappointing films for me at this year's Sundance. It has a fantastic premise, a top notch cast, and an obvious reverence for what ends up on the printed page: the ability to turn a phrase, to give life to characters through the written word. And yet, nearly all of the characters in the film are completely fake, it's hard to feel much of anything for them. The only exception was the always intense Jeremy Irons.

The first official trailer for The Words has been released, and in it we get just a taste of what the film is actually about. Bradley Cooper plays a failed writer, who finds the pages of another man's book in a lost briefcase. The script changes his life, and so he passes the work off as his own, becoming famous in the process. At the height of his popularity, he is confronted by the man who really wrote the story, and he wants something far more than just credit for his work. Zoe Saldana, Dennis Quaid, Olivia Wilde, Ben Barnes, and J.K. Simmons co-star, with Lee Sternthal and Brian Klugman directing. The Words opens on September 21st, but you can check out my review here....
