It's sex and videotape for Keanu Reeves in first trailer for 'Generation Um...'

It's been a low key few years for Keanu Reeves as he's mostly steered away from Hollywood in favor of the art house scene. That's led to a handful of decent films, such as Henry's Crime and the terrific The Privates Lives of Pippa Lee. We're still waiting to see how 47 Ronin and Man of Tai Chi will pan out, or if they'll pan out, but before then we'll see Reeves in another indie flick. The first trailer for Generation Um... has been released, in which Reeves seeks to find meaning and understanding by recording a pair of hot escorts.

Reeves stars alongside Michelle Williams clone Adelaide Clemens (Silent Hill: Revelation) and Bojana Novakovic (Drag Me to Hell) in the story about a driver named John (Reeves) and two escorts, who also happen to be best friends. As John begins to get too old for his hip, trendy New York City neighborhood, he begins to look for something new in his life. Picking up a camcorder, he decides to film the two young girls as they embark on a night full of parties, sex, and deeply held secrets.

While I'm a fan of everyone involved, with the possibly exception of Daniel Sunjata (Smash) who turns up and drops a groan-worthy line about "grabbin' that booyah", this film looks pretentious and "indie" to a fault.

Directed by Mark Mann, Generation Um... opens on May 3rd.
