New clip from Studio Ghibli's 'From Up on Poppy Hill'

While The Croods and Epic will be dominating the animated box office during the early part of 2013, the film that I think looks the most promising doesn't have families of cavemen or big forest battles. Studio Ghibli and legendary creator Hayao Miyazaki are bringing another potential classic to our shores with From Up on Poppy Hill, the award-winning film directed by Hayao's son, Goro.

A new clip from the English-dubbed version has been released, introducing us to the group of teens dealing with first love as they try to save their clubhouse from demolition by a wealthy land developer. It certainly looks like another subtle, socially conscious effort from Miyazaki, and the animation is typically beautiful.

Featuring the voices of Ron Howard, Anton Yelchin, Sarah Bolger, Christina Hendricks, Chris Noth, Jamie Lee Curtis, Aubrey Plaza, Isabelle Fuhrman, and more, From Up on Poppy Hill opens on March 15th.[Wired]
