Beyonce Uses "Crazy in Love" to Tease 'Fifty Shades of Grey' Trailer

Once thought to be delayed until September, we recently found out the Fifty Shades of Grey trailer will be arriving this month, specifically next Thursday. But one of the privileges of being a celebrity like Beyonce is you get to see things before everybody else, and the superstar singer has used Instagram to reveal a brief teaser for the trailer, set to a slowed down, breathy version of "Crazy in Love".

Along with the altered version of Beyonce hit single, things to keep an eye out for are (presumably) the strict hands of Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey, and (presumably) the anxious thighs of Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele. The S&M drama is directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson and is based on the worldwide best-seller by E.L. James, following the erotic relationship between the billionaire Grey and the sexually-inexperienced Steele.

Also starring Jennifer Ehle, Luke Grimes, Victor Rasuk, Eloise Mumford, Max Martini, Rita Ora, Marcia Gay Harden and Callum Keith Rennie, Fifty Shades of Grey opens February 13th 2015.

Jay-Z and Beyonce's Crazy Star-Studded Trailer 'Run' with Sean Penn, Jake Gyllenhall, Rashida Jones and More

It must be pretty God damned good to be Jay-Z and Beyonce. You can go from that whole elevator ass-whuppin' thing with Solange Knowles (I forgot she even existed before then so good on her for the reminder) and totally flip the news cycle in another direction by droppin' a crazy ass short film trailer. Dialing up all their friends from Sean Penn, Don Cheadle, Guillermo Díaz, Emmy Rossum, Jake Gyllenhaal, Blake Lively, and Rashida Jones, the film is titled Run and directed by Melina Matsoukas. It's basically a high-octane gangsta "Bonnie & Clyde" thing but it looks like the kind of film made by people trying way too hard. And maybe it's because the film is "coming never" but I'm not quite sure what the purpose was other than as a big "Fuck you look at us and all our awesome celebrity friends" middle finger to the rest of the world. Blergh. Okay, I get that it's for their upcoming tour but to that I say "double blergh".

And hey, if you thought Blake Lively couldn't act before, wait til you see what she can do in a film that doesn't even really exist.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Reese Witherspoon, Cameron Diaz, Andy Samberg, and Beyonce to star in musical 'One Hit Wonders'

Ryan Murphy. Great with TV. Bad with movies. At least that's been the history as far as I'm concerned, with the Glee creator finding hits on the small screen with stuff you'd never expect to fly. Nip/Tuck, really? How was that on so damn long? But on the big screen he just hasn't been able to put it together, with junk like Running with Scissors or that overlong vacation we had to go on with Julia Roberts in Eat Pray Love.

One thing Murphy hasn't done is tackle a feature that puts to use his obvious eye for musicals and ability to attract big name talent. He's lined up Reese Witherspoon, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Cameron Diaz to star in One Hit Wonders, about three 1990s pop singers who decide to form a supergroup to jumpstart their flagging careers. The idea came about over dinner between the four, which I'm guessing included alcohol of some sort? Definitely alcohol was involved in this idea. Beyonce and SNL's Andy Samberg are part of the cast as well, with Samberg and his Lonely Island crew providing the music. That means it'll be batsh*t silly.

Paltrow will also co-produce the film, which makes sense considering she's appeared on Glee numerous times at this point. She's been known to belt out a mean tune, also, most recently in Country Strong. Her singing was really the only halfway decent thing about that country music disaster. Beyonce is looking to jump back into the acting game after the birth of her and Jay-Z's metahuman celebri-child. It still remains to be seen if she'll ever star in Clint Eastwood's remake of A Star is Born, which was delayed due to the pregnancy.

This should have smash hit written all over it, but with the exception of Diaz none of the actors involved are bankable stars right now. Murphy is going to have to be a big part of the marketing, targeting as much of the Glee audience as possible.  It's unclear when production could begin, but it will be some time after Murphy completes his adaptation of The Normal Heart. Clint Eastwood to direct Beyonce in 'A Star is Born' remake

Well this one came completely out of left field. Deadline is reporting that Warner Brothers has locked up Clint Eastwood to direct a remake of the musical, A Star is Born. If that wasn't crazy enough, he'll have Beyonce as his leading lady, in the role previously occupied by Janet Gaynor, Barbara Streisand, and Judy Garland. Yes, this will be the fourth time the story of a rising star actress and a fading alcoholic actor is brought to the big screen.

Beyonce's last starring vehicle was 2009's Obsessed, which grossed an unexpected $73M and established her as a possible heavyweight leading lady.  This deal is still very much early in the development, as there's been no word on casting the male lead as of yet. I'd love to see Eddie Murphy get a chance to display the dramatic chops he showed in Dreamgirls again, and his reunion with Beyonce could be a good marketing point. Plus the guy can sing.  It's either him or Bobby Brown! Just kidding.

I expect that this will be Eastwood's next film after he wraps up his biopic J. Edgar, about the life of former FBI director J. Edgar Hoover.

This is a Joke, right? Beyonce in the Invisible Jet? Naahhh!

DC must not like their heroes all that much. Atleast not when it comes to casting. I mean, we were a hair's breadth away from Nicolas Cage sporting the red and blue tights. And let's not forget Halle Berry, looking sickly and malnourished at that, posing as the world's worst Catwoman. Now this? Surely they don't have a death wish, do they?

At a supposed press conference attended by Comicbookmovie, Beyonce spilled her guts on the prospect of playing Wonder Woman. According to her it's all but a done deal. She says she will be meeting up with the writers and directors soon, but things should start happening around mid-2010. The movie will be written by the same guys who wrote GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra, and directed by John Moore. John Moore took a hatchet to the Max Payne film earlier this year.

Say wha? Not to say that the fine fellows at comicbookmovie are untrustworthy, but I can't find any corroborating details anywhere, which is unusual. Especially for a story of this magnitude. So take this with a grain of salt. Or better yet, a whole salt shaker.

Top Shelf at the Box Office

Ok, as has been proven pretty consistently week in and week out, I don't know shit about predicting box office. That's why I'm not an analyst, but given their less than stellar track record for these things I'm in pretty good company. But anyway, I went out of my way to say that I thought Star Trek would under perform at the box office, and it looks like my prediction was way off in the Outer Rim someplace. I was right about Next Day Air, though!

1. Star Trek- $72.5M/$76.5M

Star Trek warped past all other competitors this week, bringing him 72.5M this weekend plus $4M at the Thursday previews. The opening is the highest grossing of the Star Trek franchise, besting my favorite ST flick, First Contact which only opened at $30M. Considering that the receipts actually grew from Friday to Sunday, that implies that ST could have significant staying power. In fact, I'll go on to state that I think it will manage to hold off Tom Hanks and Ron Howard's strangely promoted Angels and Demons this week in a big budget showdown. Star Trek has the benefit of a limited IMAX run of two weeks, which should force people to continue to see it for atleast that period of time.

2. X-men Origins: Wolverine-$27M/$130M

Wolverine is the best he is at what he does, and what he did this week was drop about 70%. That's due in no small part to Star Trek's blazing start, which was still less than Wolvie's opening by a healthy margin, but also due to poor word of mouth. With the news that nearly 4 million people also downloaded the film illegally nearly a month before it's release, it must also factor in that maybe the majority of "new" viewers have already seen the movie and that it will falter from here on out. This second week tally is the lowest for all of the X-men films, even that stinker of a third film.

3. Ghosts of Girlfriends Past- $10.4M/$30.2M

The Shirtless Wonder proved that he's got more staying power than one would think, only losing about 30% of last week's gross. The film didn't do itself any favors with the timing of it's release, nor the odd marketing campaign that made it seem like dead folks were hounding the main character, which ain't the case.

4. Obsessed- $6.6M/$56.2M

Yesterday my grandma told me that she and my grandpa desperately want to go see "that Obsession movie", which I'm assuming they meant Obsessed. Only goes to prove my point that trashy, racially tinged B-movies featuring hot broads knows no generational bounds.

5. 17 Again- $4.41M/$54.2M

6. Next Day Air- $4M

I'm not sure what studios were expecting from a dark buddy comedy about two murderous, drug dealing criminals but I'm pretty sure it was more than they actually got. Then again there are practically no bankable faces here, and maybe this is exactly what they were expecting. It was a decent film, at any rate.

7. The Soloist- $3.6M/$23.5M

This just keep chuggin' along, hoping it hangs around late enough that it might be remembered come Razzie season. I mean Oscar season! Slip of the finger!

8. Monsters vs. Aliens- $3.38M/$187M

9. Earth- $2.49M/$26.1M

10. Hannah Montana: The Movie- $2.41M/$74.1M

A Film Ruined Before it Starts: McG to Direct, Beyonce to Star in Wonder Woman?

Granted this is still in the early stages, it's being reported that McG is at the front of the line to direct the big screen version of DC Comics heroine, Wonder Woman. No truth to the rumors that he will cast Drew Barrymore in the title role, and she would defeat her enemies with a wink of her middle-aged eye.

What's worse, supposedly Beyonce has been in meetings to star as the Amazonian bombshell. In an interview with Hero Complex, she expressed her feeling to be a part of the superhero movie universe. No desire to actually act or anything, just be a part of the universe.

Somebody get her a copy of Birds of Prey and let this be over with!
