NSFW Trailer for Comic Book Adaptation 'The Scribbler' Starring Katie Cassidy, Sasha Grey, and Eliza Dushku

Not every comic book adaptation is going to make hundreds of millions of dollars and launch a franchise. Some have more modest expectations, and one of those is The Scribbler, which is based on the Image Comics graphic novel by Daniel Schaffer, who also penned the screenplay. Directed by some guy named John Suits, the film boasts a large ensemble of recognizable names, including a pair of Buffy the Vampire Slayer alums in Eliza Dushkua and Michelle Trachtenberg.

Katie Cassidy (Laurel Lance on Arrow) stars as Suki,  a mentally disturbed young woman who deals with her illness with an experimental machine known as "the Siamese Burn". The process destroys multiple personalities until there's only one left, but then Suki begins to wonder if the last unwanted personality will be her own. What happens then? What kind of person would she be?  I'm not familiar with Cassidy outside of Arrow but she is completely unrecognizable here compared to the straight-laced character she plays on the show. Michael Imperioli, Garret Dillahunt, Sasha Grey, Gina Gershon, and Billy Campbell co-star in what looks like a trashy, super-powered head trip. Kinda looking forward to it.

Check out the trailer below, and since it's NSFW you may want to do it from home. The Scribbler hits DVD/Blu-Ray on October 21st.

Jamie Chung Voices 'Big Hero 6'; Eliza Dushku Joins 'Eloise'; Annabelle Wallis Boards 'Grimsby'

* Ex-Real Worlder Jamie Chung, who will be seen later this summer in Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, will be lending her voice to Marvel's animated Big Hero 6. The Disney Animation film is based on the quirky Japanese superteam created by Scott Lobdel, and centers on robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada who, along with his powerful robot Baymax, joins an oddball team of heroes to defend the city of San Fransokyo. Chung joins the only other confirmed cast member, TJ Miller, who will be voicing Fredzilla. Big Hero 6 is set to open November 7th.

* Chace Crawford, Eliza Dushku, Brandon T. Jackson, and PJ Byrne will star in Eloise, a psychological thriller that marks the directorial debut by Academy Award-winning visual effects wiz, Robert Legato. They play four friends who break into the Eloise mental hospital "in hopes of finding a death certificate, which will provide Jacob (Crawford) with the rights to a sizable inheritance. While inside the asylum, the group not only finds that the institution houses a horrifying history but also the truth about their own tragic pasts." The script was written by Vatican Tapes scribe, Chris Borrelli. Filming begins next month at the infamous Eloise Insane Asylum, one of the largest in the world. [Deadline]

* With Mark Strong just coming aboard to play Sacha Baron Cohen's brother in Grimsby, the spy comedy now has a female lead in Annabelle Wallis. Cohen plays a British football hooligan who is forced to go on the run with his brother, a Black Ops super-spy. Wallis will play a love interest, of course. She'll also be seen, coincidentally, in The Conjuring spinoff titled Annabelle.

Blu-Ray and DVD Deals: Up to 70% off everything Joss Whedon

Amazon is showing Joss Whedon some serious love this week, and now sort of seems like the perfect time, doesn't it? His indie Much Ado About Nothing has received nothing short of fantastic reviews out of SXSW, so why not remind people of the many other projects featuring his unique voice?

The deal this week encompasses pretty much everything he did on the TV side of things. You can get the complete series of Firefly  on Blu-Ray for only $18.49, so there's absolutely no reason not to own it. You can get both seasons of Dollhouse on Blu-Ray for less than $35, which is half the cost of buying the complete set. The awesome Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie with Kristy Swanson is only $8.99 on Blu-Ray.  But the real steal may be getting the complete series of Buffy the Vampire Slayer for only $64.99, a whopping 68% off. The discount on Angel is just as good, 60% off for a low price of $55.99. If I didn't already own them I'd buy them all right now.

You can check out the full list of Whedon titles on sale here!

Akroyd confirms Ghostbusters 3 already casting

There've been so many rumors and false starts and whatever in regards to Ghostbusters 3 that I just stopped hearing anything about it. Don't get me wrong, the rumors never ceased and even on occasion I've written about 'em but I don't take any of it seriously. But even now I have to admit that it looks like it may be time for me to take the earplugs out and start listening again, especially when the words are coming straight from Dan Akroyd's mouth.

The actor was on WGN radio recently and was surprisingly open about the production, confirming that a lot of the casting rumors we've already heard about indeed true. He's confirmed that the casting process is underway and while they're open to some "fresh faces", he also states that Bill Hader(Adventureland) and Anna Faris(The House Bunny) are "strong possibilities". He also mentioned Eliza Dushku's name as a possibility. The biggest news to me is that he confirmed that both Bill Murray and Sigourney Weaver will be back as well. Yay.

The last we'd heard, Columbia Pictures was shooting for a May 2011 start date. That means you can expect the casting news to start picking up some serious steam from here on out.
