Supercut of Wu-Tang Clan Performed by All Your Favorite Movies

This might be the greatest thing the Internet has ever produced. Seriously, I think this is what it was dreamed up for all those years ago. One Youtube user with too much time on their hands (that could be ALL of them, but I digress) and an abnormal love of movies and Wu-Tang Clan rap lyrics, has stitched together a supercut of movie characters performing the group's 1995 single "Wu-Tang Clan Ain't Nuthing ta Fuck Wit". It's beyond awesome. Basically every movie character you ever liked manages to get a word in, even ol' Gandalf the Grey gets his two-cents. Check it out. Lots of Coffee & Cigarettes, too, for obvious reasons. [Uproxx]

Humanity Falls in Three 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' Short Films

The early reviews are starting to roll in for Matt Reeves' Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and the buzz is overwhelmingly positive. Nearly all of them praise it as a vast improvement on Rise of the Planet of the Apes which, as you may recall, was pretty darn good in its own right and built a solid foundation for a thrilling sci-fi franchise. The end of that film saw a virus, known as the "Simian Flu" released into the atmosphere where it began to infect the human population. In the ten years that have passed between 'Rise' and 'Dawn', that virus spread and the story of what that looked like is chronicled in three new short films.

The first short, SPREAD OF SIMIAN FLU: BEFORE THE DAWN OF THE APES (YEAR 1), is directed by Isaiah Seret and here's the synopsis:

Synopsis: Amidst a widespread viral outbreak known as the 'Simian Flu', a mother is quarantined after testing positive for the virus, leaving her husband and daughter to fend for themselves.

Daniel Thron was at the helm for the second short, STRUGGLING TO SURVIVE: BEFORE THE DAWN OF THE APES (YEAR 5):

Synopsis: Five years after the Simian Flu all but wiped out humanity, an orphaned teenage girl survives by bartering things she has stolen from dead people's homes.

And finally "thirty two" directed STORY OF THE GUN: BEFORE THE DAWN OF THE APES (YEAR 10)

Synopsis: Follow the journey of a shotgun through the hands of several ill-fated owners as the 'Simian Flu' ravages the world around them.

These short films make up an entire fillm called Island of Apes, a collaboration between 20th Century Fox and Motherboard.  Here's the synopsis for that followed by a trailer, and we'll update this with the full movie when it releases tomorrow.  Dawn of the Planet of the Apes opens July 11th.

The documentary heads to an isolated area inhabited solely by former lab-tested chimpanzees who have survived both disease and two civil wars, and today instill fear in their neighboring communities. We head to the beaches of the island to capture the chimps in their unique habitat, and discover that human interaction is far from second nature. For the first time in history, we sit down with Betsy Brotman, one-half of the testing facility's founding couple, to learn of her shockingly dark and heroic past, and why her views on animal testing have dramatically changed.

President Snow Threatens Panem in 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' Teaser

"Panem today. Panem tomorrow. Panem forever". The first two movies in The Hunger Games series have rightfully taken their place at the top of the YA hill, with both films combining for more than $1.5B worldwide. To put it in perspective, Shailene Woodley's Divergent only has about $270M right now meaning she's got a long way to go to catch up with Jennifer Lawrence. With the final book in Veronica Roth's trilogy being adapted into two separate movies, the marketing for Mockingjay Part 1 has been going on for quite awhile, and now it takes a slightly threatening turn with the latest viral.

Decked out in awesome all-white attire that somehow makes him more menacing, Donald Sutherland returns as President Snow to deliver a TV address to the citizens of Panem. While he mostly talks about forging a perfect union built on togetherness (the spot is called "Together as One" for a reason), Snow can't help but make a thinly-veiled threat to those who may rebel against the Capitol's wishes. There's a mild spoiler in the presence of Josh Hutcherson's Peeta Mellark, who was captured by Snow's men at the end of the last film and is clearly brainwashed or something now.

With new additions Julianne Moore, Natalie Dormer, and Gwendoline Christie joining the returned cast, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 opens November 21st directed by Francis Lawrence.

The Simian Flu Spreads in 'Dawn of the Planet of the Apes' Viral Video

At the tail end of Rise of the Planet of the Apes, a dangerous "simian flu" was released into the atmosphere, and we saw just the beginnings of its spread across the world. The events that took place after are what we'll get in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes this summer, but what happens in-between are the subject of a new viral video. In it we see what happens when the flu becomes a worldwide pandemic that begins to wipe out the human population over the course of seven years. There's also the brief suggestion (via Google search) that some humans may be immune to the flu, and maybe those are the humans portrayed by Jason Clarke, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, and others.

Directed by Matt Reeves, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes opens July 11th 2014.

Bryan Singer Teases 'X-men: Apocalypse'; New 'Days of Future Past' Viral and Photos

The reach of Marvel's tentacles goes far beyond the Avengers universe, it spreads to 20th Century Fox and their revitalized X-men franchise. The architect behind it is the returned Bryan Singer, who will bring X-men: Days of Future Past to theaters this summer, which will then be followed in 2016 by X-men: Apocalypse, a very loose adaptation of the classic Age of Apocalypse storyline.

Singer, along with writers Simon Kinberg, Dan Harris, and Michael Dougherty, have begun to develop the story for 'Apocalypse' already. While we know that it will include the titular villain and deal with the origins of mutantkind, Singer and Kinberg have teased a few more plot details in a chat with EW.

First up, Singer says 'Future Past' won't necessarily lead directly into 'Apocalypse', but will definitely set aspects of it up....

Singer: "You won’t feel at the end of the movie that it set up Apocalypse. What it does is it sets up possibilities. But what we'll discover in Apocalypse is that events in this movie made that happen."

He went on to expound a little on this idea of exploring mutants' pasts, which is perfect for Apocalypse who is recognized in the comics as the very first mutant....

Singer:  “ 'Apocalypse' deals with ancient mutancy. What would humans have thought mutants were? What would mutants think humans were? You’re dealing with gods and things like that. And what if one survived and what if that found its way into our world?”

He also goes on to note that, unlike the comics storyline Age of Apocalypse, the film won't necessarily be fracturing into alternate universes, revealing that it will focus mainly on the X-men: First Class team rather than the huge 'Future Past' roster.

Meanwhile, Kinberg promises things are only going to get bigger from here....

Kinberg: "From a visual standpoint it actually may be a bigger movie than Days of Future Past because there'll be disaster movie imagery. Like the title would imply."

But before they get to 'Apocalypse', the X-men must survive 'Future Past', and a new viral video shows mutants have been a big part of history for a long time. We've seen viral teasers weaving mutants into the Cuban Missile Crisis, JFK's assassination, and other major events before, but this footage puts it into a clearer focus. Most notably, Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage) and Trask Industries are at the heart of pretty much everything. Check that out below, plus some new images.  X-men: Days of Future Past opens May 23rd.
