President Snow's Speech is Hacked in New 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' Teaser

"Because now more than ever, Panem is speaking with one voice".  Yeah, President Snow (Donald Sutherland) may want to think again on that score. He's been pushing the unity card pretty hard ever since the last address, and now in this new teaser for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1, his speech is interrupted by the rebel forces he's railing against.

With a brainwashed Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Johanna Mason (Jena Malone) by his side, Snow's latest Capitol TV broadcast sounds a lot like the first one, and probably would have ended with another thinly-veiled threat against those who oppose him. However, address is soon interrupted by technological wiz, Beetee (Jeffrey Wright), who informs the public that "The Mockingjay lives".

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1 opens November 21st.

President Snow Threatens Panem in 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' Teaser

"Panem today. Panem tomorrow. Panem forever". The first two movies in The Hunger Games series have rightfully taken their place at the top of the YA hill, with both films combining for more than $1.5B worldwide. To put it in perspective, Shailene Woodley's Divergent only has about $270M right now meaning she's got a long way to go to catch up with Jennifer Lawrence. With the final book in Veronica Roth's trilogy being adapted into two separate movies, the marketing for Mockingjay Part 1 has been going on for quite awhile, and now it takes a slightly threatening turn with the latest viral.

Decked out in awesome all-white attire that somehow makes him more menacing, Donald Sutherland returns as President Snow to deliver a TV address to the citizens of Panem. While he mostly talks about forging a perfect union built on togetherness (the spot is called "Together as One" for a reason), Snow can't help but make a thinly-veiled threat to those who may rebel against the Capitol's wishes. There's a mild spoiler in the presence of Josh Hutcherson's Peeta Mellark, who was captured by Snow's men at the end of the last film and is clearly brainwashed or something now.

With new additions Julianne Moore, Natalie Dormer, and Gwendoline Christie joining the returned cast, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 opens November 21st directed by Francis Lawrence.

Season finale of 'True Detective' gets an utterly stress-inducing teaser

I am an insanely obsessed True Detective person, and I'm not ashamed! I read its Reddit page compulsively. I follow way too many Tumblrs that post gif after gif after gif of each episode. And next week, when this first season with Woody Harrelson and your new winner of the Best Actor Oscar Matthew "All right, all right, all right" McConaughey ends, I will be DESPONDENT. Because True Detective may be the best show on TV right now and I can't even imagine how season two could get any better.

If you're watching, you know all the plot threads that have to be tied up - the Yellow King, Carcosa, if Marty's (Harrelson's character) daughter Audrey had anything to do with those creepy men in terrifying animal masks - and you also know that last night's episode already revealed some major plot points we've been building up to for weeks. And, if you need to whet your appetite a bit more, check out the teaser below for the season finale. IS THAT RUST TIED UP ON THAT BED? WHAT IS GOING ON? I AM VERY STRESSED OUT

Join me in being stressed. Next Sunday on the PunchDrunkCritics podcast we'll discuss our theories about how the show is going to wrap up; be sure to listen in. Until then, I'll be over here working on my devil's nest.

New teaser for 'X-Men: Days of Future Past' gives a glimpse of Evan Peters as Quicksilver

So are people really excited for X-Men: Days of Future Past? BECAUSE I AM REALLY EXCITED FOR X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. And the new video clip released on Instagram today has only fueled my fangirl-ing even more.

To be honest, it's not like there is that much new stuff in this video, which is really just a brief teaser. We get Michael Fassbender as young Magneto again, we get James McAvoy as young Professor X again, we get Jennifer Lawrence as young Mystique again (looking very period-appropriate in her '70s gear, I must say). But we are getting a couple of first glimpses, including of Quicksilver, who in this film will be played Emma Roberts' fiance Evan Peters. (In the Marvel films, the role will be played by Kick-Ass star Aaron Taylor-Johnson.) Anyway, here's a screengrab of Peters:

And here are the other new X-Men we see in the teaser; from left to right, that's teleporting mutant Blink (Fan Bingbing), super-strong and super-fast Warpath (Booboo Stewart, of Twilight fame), and the solar power-absorbing Sunspot (Adan Canto):

Check out the rest of the clip for yourself, if you're so inclined; Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, Ian McKellen as older Magneto, and Shawn Ashmore as Iceman also make an appearance. X-Men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on May 23, 2014.

Lars von Trier's "Nymphomaniac" gets a second teaser clip

Guys, I just can't with Lars von Trier. I'm sorry, I just don't get it. AT ALL. I always argue with fellow PDC-er Travis Hopson over this, because he adores von Trier and really liked Melancholia and I just wanted Kirsten Dunst to kill herself already, but I just ... no.

Which is why this new clip of von Trier's upcoming Nymphomaniac also does nothing for me, except for make me really uncomfortable and never want to think about sex again. Like ... ever.

This quite-probably-NSFW clip is from chapter two of the film, which will focus on Charlotte Gainsbourg's character's Joe's relationship with Shia LaBeouf as Jerôme. The official description of the clip is as follows:

Though love is a shallow feeling in the eyes of the cynical nymphomaniac, young Joe is met by forces penetrating her armoured defences.

His name is Jerôme.

And here's the clip itself:

I mean, do I really want to see Shia having sex with anyone? Probably not. But if you care about Nymphomaniac and you're weird just like Travis, then I guess this clip will be interesting for you? Or something?

Anyway, Nymphomaniac comes out on Christmas Day in Denmark - it doesn't have a definitive release date in the U.S. yet - so there's that.
