Jennifer Lawrence Takes 'The Dive' with James Cameron and Francis Lawrence

Some years back, before James Cameron decided to call Avatar his cinematic home for the foreseeable future, he had been developing a personal passion project, The Dive. The film, originally penned by Laeta Kalogridis and rewritten by J. Michael Straczynski, centered on the husband and wife diving team of Francisco “Pipin” Ferreras and Audrey Mestre. Cameron eventually slid into a producer role and others have been attached briefly, but now it's come back to the surface with The Hunger Games duo of Jennifer Lawrence and Francis Lawrence.

According to The Wrap, Lawrence is set to star as Audrey Mestre in The Dive, reteaming with Francis Lawrence (no relation!) who she has been working with on The Hunger Games movies since 'Catching Fire'. Ferreras and Mestre broke records as freedivers, which means diving without the aid of breathing equipment, until she died in 2002 during a practice dive.

No word on who will take the Ferreras role, or what approach will be taken with the material. Cameron was on hand with Ferreras during a tribute dive in honor of his late wife, so chances are it will be a respectful piece that leaves out some of the criminal accusations made against Ferreras.

Melissa McCarthy in Early Talks for Paul Feig's 'Ghostbusters' Reboot

Surely everyone knew this was coming. Melissa McCarthy has been around for longer than many may know, but she didn't really hit it big until she began working with Paul Feig on Bridesmaids and The Heat. When Feig began developing the espionage comedy, Spy, McCarthy was the first one on board for it. And when he began developing an all-female Ghostbusters reboot, McCarthy was mentioned early and often as a likely star. To the surprise of absolutely nobody it's looking like McCarthy and Feig will be working together once more.

According to THR, McCarthy is in very early talks to lead Ghostbusters, but her participation is going to require some stuff get moved around on her schedule. Between the comedy Michelle Darnell (recently set for a 2016 release) and CBS sitcom Mike & Molly her calendar is pretty full already, plus some creative details need to worked out over meetings. So we'll see what happens there but chances are everyone involved with move mountains to make sure this happens.

Another who is a possible contender is Emma Stone, and she's apparently available after turning down a role in JC Chandor's Deepwater Horizon. Cecily Strong of SNL and 22 Jump Street's Jillian Bell are also said to be in the mix. Unfortunately we probably won't be seeing Jennifer Lawrence or Rebel Wilson suiting up as Ghostbusters, even though Wilson previously admitted to meeting with producers.

Right now they're really banking on McCarthy to be the headliner, and if scheduling can't be worked out it will be interesting to see what the backup plan is.

Jennifer Lawrence could Star in 'Ghostbusters' Reboot along with Emma Stone and Melissa McCarthy

All of the bad mojo surrounding Ghostbusters is gone now that Paul Feig is planning an all-female reboot, and it seems some of Hollywood's top ladies are down to be a part of it. While Bill Murray may have his dream casting for it all thought out, others are throwing their names into the ring. Rebel Wilson recently revealed she had met with Feig about a role, and apparently so has Jennifer Lawrence. In a strange MTV UK video where they ask celebrities their dream cast for Ghostbusters, Lawrence revealed she had met with Feig, too.  She doesn't come right out and say it was for Ghostbusters, but given the context why else would she mention it?

Meanwhile, her name has popped up in relation to the project elsewhere, and of course it's part of the Sony hacking scandal that has exposed everything about the studio. In an email sent from Sony's Amy Pascal to Ivan Reitman, she says Lawrence, Melissa McCarthy, Emma Stone, and others are interested in gearing up their proton packs...

"Paul's movie is gonna be the first one and from what I'm hearing jennifer lawrence and Emma stone and Melissa McCarthy and Amy schumer and liszzy [Lizzy] Kaplan [Caplan] just to name a few have already said thy wanted to be in...."

All of those names make some degree of sense as they have close connections to Feig; not to mention they're all hilarious and extremely talented women who could make this movie pretty amazing.

Pascal also says Feig's Ghostbusters "isn't a sequel to the 80s movies and it is gonna be totally original with completely different characters", which sounds like exactly what a reboot should be. Probably the smart way to go as there wasn't this much excitement for the film until Feig came aboard. But at the same time, Sony knows a lot of people were clamoring for Bill Murray to return, although the actor remained completely uninterested in it. And apparently Sony was considering some heavy legal action to try and force him to come back. In an email from October 2013 between two Sony legal execs, they considered taking an "aggressive" stance against Murray, but feared what would happen if all this came out in the public. Whoops.

“In order to more fully evaluate our position if Bill Murray again declines to engage on ‘Ghostbusters’, AG requested that we identify ‘aggressive’ litigation counsel with whom we can consult to evaluate our alternatives and strategize,” the email read. “[Harkening back to his prior employer, of course, raised the name of David Boies.] Personally, while I’m fine with aggressive, I think we are in much worse shape if this goes public so seems to me we should look for someone who isn’t seeking the spotlight.”

So no go on suing Murray. Wise move. Could you imagine the distraction he'd be on set if forced to be there? Crazy.  [TheDailyBeast]

Review: 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1' starring Jennifer Lawrence

Politics has always been at the heart of The Hunger Games, keyed to greater effect in Suzanne Collins' novels than in the pair of film adaptation we've seen up to this point. That's to be expected; the focus has largely been on the tournament of violence the volatile heroine Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and her maybe-love Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) find themselves thrust into by the despotic President Snow (Donald Sutherland).  But among all of the battles and love triangles, make no mistake that politics, specifically how governments collude with the media to keep the populace naive, was a big part of why this franchise resonates as much as it does. Have you watched the cable news lately? Don't bother.

That Mockingjay maintains such a high level while evolving from a futuristic war film into a straight-up political thriller is an incredible achievement, even if it comes at the expense of the action some have come to expect. The "games" are different this time for Katniss, who has just been rescued by the rebellion after she literally blew up the Quarter Quell. Now she must face a twisted game of cat and mouse with President Snow, one in which he is more than happy to use a sickly, brainwashed Peeta as propaganda against her. But the rebels holed up in District 13's underground bunker are just as savvy, and with the encouragement of President Alma Coin (Julianne Moore) and Plutarch Heavensbee (the late Philip Seymour Hoffman in his final role), Katniss reluctantly agrees to become the "mockingjay" and lead the people of Panem in a battle against the Capitol.

Ironically, this is a movie about the power of the visual image to influence great societal change. Katniss isn't the most natural leader, so the early attempts to mold her into one are dismal failures. It's her now-sober mentor Haymitch (Woody Harrelson) who suggests taking her out into the field where a film crew led by Cressida (Natalie Dormer) can document her every move, turning her escapades into political ads to rally the other Districts. Her return home to District 12, destroyed by a bombing raid that killed practically everyone, is especially gruesome and heart-wrenching, the crunch of broken bones beneath Katniss' feet with every step. The 'hunger games' themselves are terrible, but it's nothing compared to the true evil inflicted by Snow while he grins behind that white beard and curling sneer. There couldn't have been a more perfect choice than Lawrence to play the strong, defiant Katniss, but let's not overlook the amazing Donald Sutherland. He deserves to be mentioned right alongside Ralph Fiennes' Voldemort, Heath Ledger's Joker, and whoever that guy was who played Darth Vader.

With Peeta firmly in the Capitol's clutches, the love triangle takes a bit of a hiatus. It's still there when we see Katniss' lovelorn pal Gale Hawthorne (Liam Hemsworth) comforting her as she pines for the deteriorating Peeta.  The lack of romantic sparks actually works to Gale's benefit as he finally starts to take shape as a real character, one with opinions that don't necessarily conform to what Katniss expects. Others get their moments to shine, including Finnick Odair (Sam Claflin) who is also anguishing over a lost lover; the eccentric inventor BeeTee (Jeffrey Wright) who has settled into his role as the rebels' tech guy; and Effie Trinkett (Elizabeth Banks) who has found a way to turn the ugly rebel grey/black uniforms into something close to chic. Incoming screenwriter Danny Strong, who knows a thing or two about political movies having penned Recount and Game Change for HBO, subtly tweaks each character to reflect the war-torn world they find themselves in now.

Those expecting Mockingjay part 1 to be just like Catching Fire may be disappointed, though. The thrills are of a different sort, and there isn't the "who's going to die next?" mystery hanging over every scene. Katniss remains at the center but this is about how she copes with having leadership thrust upon her, not how many Tributes she can fire an arrow into. It's another outstanding, complex performance by Lawrence who shows Katniss' vulnerability early on before igniting the rebel cause as the "girl on fire" later on. It doesn't seem to matter what role she's in, we can't help but feel a connection to her.

Francis Lawrence returns as director after helming 'Catching Fire', and it can't be overstated how the franchise has improved since the departure of Gary Ross. Not that Ross was terrible; he set the groundwork and Lawrence has taken it to a whole new level. By necessity there is less visual dazzle than before, but he still manages to flesh out the technologically advanced world of Panem in a way that is relatable.

There's more Mockingjay to come, of course, and the sequel promises to be all-out war. The first chapter ends on one heck of a nasty cliffhanger that does exactly what it's supposed to which is leave us anxious to see what's next.

New Clip from 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay' featuring CGI-Less Philip Seymour Hoffman

After the sudden, tragic passing of Philip Seymour Hoffman earlier this year there was some question surrounding his last major role, which was in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay two-part finale. We knew he hadn't quite wrapped up his part as Plutarch Heavensbee, and there had been some inklings that CGI could be used to fill in the gaps, a process which has a sketchy track record. Well, Francis Lawrence has now come out and said he decided that wasn't such a good idea. He tells HuffPo...

"He had two scenes with dialogue that were left and we decided we didn't want to try any digital trickery with him, so we rewrote his scenes and gave the dialogue to other actors. So there was one scene from Part 1 and one scene from Part 2."

Probably the wisest course of action. Meanwhile, a new clip has emerged that just happens to include Hoffman along with co-stars Julianne Moore, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, and Jennifer Lawrence. In this scene, we see Haymitch and the rebel brain trust discussing how to make Katniss more likeable to the public. Surprisingly, the strongest voice in her defense is Effie Trinkett, who has been genuinely moved by Katniss' self-sacrificing ways.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1 opens Nov. 21st.

'X-men: Apocalypse' to Highlight Mystique/Magneto Relationship

The X-men comics have always been one big mutant soap opera, and that's been reflected in the movies as well. The first trilogy centered on the love triangle between Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Wolverine, and the romantic entanglements haven't gone away as the focus shifted to the young core of students. X-men: First Class and X-men: Days of Future Past had the relationship between Xavier (James McAvoy), Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), and Magneto (Michael Fassbender) at their core, and now we're seeing it from another angle in 2016's X-men: Apocalypse.

In an extensive piece of Lawrence's career, THR notes that X-men: Apocalypse will highlight the romance between Mystique and Magneto. Sorry, all of you hoping Mystique and Hank "Beast" McCoy (Nicholas Hoult) would finally hook up, butt hat doesn't seem to be happening. Then again, screenwriter Simon Kinberg has previously stated how he finds the Mystique/Beast friendship potentially interesting, with a hope of exploring it more in 'Apocalypse'.

The point of this seems to be that Mystique is going to get her moment to shine. The first film was largely about Magneto, the second was about Xavier, so it make sense she would be at the center of the next. Plus, Lawrence and Fassbender are much bigger stars now than they were a few years ago.

Bryan Singer will return to direct X-men: Apocalypse for May 27th 2016.

New 'Mockingjay' Clip and Poster as Cast Crashes Woody Harrelson's SNL Appearance

In just a few short days, fans will finally have their chance to see the war against the Capital take shape in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1, but before all of that happens the marketing campaign is being kicked up another notch. It's been pretty hard to avoid Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, and Liam Hemsworth for the last couple of weeks, which is fine because they genuinely seem to have fun when together, especially when it comes at the expense of someone else in the cast.

Woody Harrelson, who Katniss' mentor Haymitch in the films, hosted SNL last night and his opening monologue about the year 1989 was interrupted by Lawrence, Hutcherson, and Hemsworth. Also, we get to see the trio together again in the latest clip, which shows a beef brewing between Katniss and Gale over Peeta's fate. That's accompanied by a stylish new poster, featuring Katniss in what looks like a piece of rebellion propaganda.

So lots of stuff to take in here. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 opens November 21st!

Katniss meets Cressida in New 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay' Clip

One of the many reasons The Hunger Games has stayed ahead of the game the last couple of years is the amount of talent that keeps signing on to the franchise. While the cast was top notch right from the beginning, adding names like Jeffrey Wright, Julianne Moore, and Philip Seymour Hoffman were a major coup, and one of the most exciting new additions for the two-part Mockingjay finale is Game of Thrones star, Natalie Dormer.

Dormer plays Cressida, who plays her part in the rebellion by documenting every move Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) makes so the footage can be used to inspire others. In this clip we see Katniss' first meeting with Cressida, along with her video crew, including one who had his tongue cut out by the Capitol.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1 is right around the corner, opening November 21st.

New 'Mockingjay' Clip Reveals a Familiar Face

Just a few short weeks until we launch into part 1 of the 2 part finale for the epic Hunger Games series, expect the media onslaught to begin NOW. Today's clip reveals to us, and Katniss, a friend we feared dead *SPOILER ALERT* At the end of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Peta Malark, it seemed, was dead. His not-deadness is revealed in full form to Katniss via a sit down interview with MC extraordinaire, Caesar Flickerman (Stanley Tucci), which brings up a number of questions, the answers to which are likely  to greatly impact the events of Mockinjay. As a non-book reader this is all news to me and leaves me with only one REAL question, has Peta turned to the darkside? Is it a ruse? Is he under mind-control? Obviously Katniss is just as shocked as we are, the good news is we can find out the answer on November 21st, 2014 when The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt.1 hits theaters! Oh the intrigue, oh the drama!

New U.S. Trailer for 'Serena' starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper

Poor reviews and a couple of years gathering dust aside, there's still a few reasons to be excited for the Depression-era melodrama, Serena: Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, and Susanne Bier. Chances are when the film actually arrives, that's all people will need to know when deciding to plunk down their money to see it. Set in North Carolina, the story centers on George and Serena Pemberton, powerful timber magnates fighting to protect their empire from competitors. As their business grows, problems arise in their marriage due to his infidelity and her inability to get pregnant, leading to a breakdown that threatens to destroy everything.

Serena is playing now in the U.K., but will land stateside on VOD February 26th 2015 before hitting theaters a month later. Check out the new U.S. trailer below.

Katniss Prepares for War in Final Trailer for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1'

"If we burn, you burn with us", Katniss roars at President Snow in the new, jam-packed 60 second trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1. Following on the events of Catching Fire, Katniss Everdeen is now the face of a revolution, leading the people of District 13 against the Capitol. Meanwhile she must also rescue Peeta, who has been captured and brainwashed, while also protecting her family from Snow's inevitable retaliation.

Supposedly the "final" trailer before the film's arrival on November 21st, it promises massive scope and a ton of action, with Jennifer Lawrence looking as strong as ever as Katniss. With a cast that includes Philip Seymour Hoffman, Julianne Moore, Woody Harrelson, Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Banks, Jena Malone, Jeffrey Wright and more, let's hope they remember to keep a focus on the characters and not just on big special effects. They've done a pretty good job of it so far, and with the finale split into two chapters there should be even more time to get it right.

Mockingjay Part 1 will be followed by Part 2 on November 20th 2015.

Katniss Makes a Hard Choice in New 'Mockingjay' TV Spot

In exactly one month The Hunger Games begins the march to finality with Mockingjay, and it's a story so big Lionsgate had to split it in two. Actually, it's not that big but the money these movies make is huge so they had to find any way to extend the blockbuster franchise's lifespan. And part of that is an extensive, multi-faceted marketing campaign, which includes revealing brand new footage in the latest TV spot. Here's the official synopsis:

The worldwide phenomenon of The Hunger Games continues to set the world on fire with The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1, which finds Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) in District 13 after she literally shatters the games forever. Under the leadership of President Coin (Julianne Moore) and the advice of her trusted friends, Katniss spreads her wings as she fights to save Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and a nation moved by her courage. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 is directed by Francis Lawrence from a screenplay by Danny Strong and Peter Craig and produced by Nina Jacobson’s Color Force in tandem with producer Jon Kilik. The novel on which the film is based is the third in a trilogy written by Suzanne Collins that has over 65 million copies in print in the U.S. alone.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 opens November 21st.

Jennifer Lawrence Shows How it's Done in New Clip from 'Serena'

So after a couple of years on the shelf, Susanne Bier's dramatic period piece Serena finally played in front of audiences at BFI London Film Festival and...well, it didn't turn out so good. After reports surfaced that multiple studios had turned down the film because of how terrible it was, early reviews seem to back that up. The star power of Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence may yet carry it to some level of box office success, though, and in small pieces the film doesn't look that bad.

The latest clip follows Lawrence as the titular character, the wife of a wealthy timber magnate as she teaches the workers how to do the job right. You get a sense of how strong and capable she is, but we know her mental state will be tested when her husband's secrets come to light.

Serena opens in theaters here on March 27th 2015, preceded by a VOD run on February 26th.

Return to District 12 in the New 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1' Teaser

By all accounts this has been a bounce back year for the YA genre after a disappointing 2013. Divergent and The Maze Runner got new franchises off on the right footing, and next month brings the first chapter in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, which has just revealed a new teaser.

Titled "Return to District 12", the footage shows Katniss...well, returning to her home in District 12 which is now smoking rubble due to the Capitol's attack. But Katniss is the "girl on fire", the face of the rebel army and she'll go back in to battle to defeat President Snow, rescue her brainwashed lover Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), and save Panem once and for all. She just won't do it in the first film, which is why the series' finale has been split into two parts.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1 opens November 21st.

Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper Enjoy the View in First 'Serena' Clip

By now you know the story about Serena, Susanne Bier's film starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence that has been sitting on ice for a couple of years. All involved have completed other high-profile projects since, but finally it will be unveiled in full to the public at the London Film Festival before opening stateside early next year. And with reports that the film may not be all that great continuing to surface, a new clip has been released that is, frankly, kind of flat.

The Depression-era drama follows a timber magnate and his wife as they try to hold on to their North Carolina business while struggling with dark secrets from his past and her inability to bear children. This scene shows the couple in a happier moment as he shows off their new home with promises of more in the future. There's nothing really wrong with Lawrence or Cooper's acting in this scene, it's just really dry and there's no passion or anything between them. It just feels off, and maybe that's why the film has run in to so many difficulties.

Serena hits VOD on February 26th 2015 with a theatrical run to follow a month later.

Jennifer Lawrence knows Magneto's Plans in 'X-men: Days of Future Past' Deleted Scene

The anticipated Blu-Ray release of X-men: Days of Future Past is right around the corner, and while some may be inclined to wait until next year for the "Rogue Cut", this version is looking packed with extras, too. 20th Century Fox has released a deleted scene from the film that centers on a tense conversation between Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence), Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), and Hank McCoy (Nicholas Hoult) in which she warns them of Magneto (Michael Fassbender) and his plans for war. There's also a little bit of romantic tension going on given Mystique's close relationship with both guys, although Hank is too much of a lab geek to do anything.

X-men: Days of Future Past hits Blu-Ray on October 14th.

New Images of Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence in 'Serena'; Hits VOD February 2015

After Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence won our hearts in Silver Linings Playbook and before they starred in American Hustle, there was Serena, the Susanne Bier-directed drama that has been in limbo for more than two years. That's never a good sign, and recently some word started to leak out that the film is pretty terrible, but there's also a counter narrative out there suggesting the opposite. With Magnolia Pictures recently stating we'd finally find out for ourselves early next year, studio chief Eamonn Bowles has confirmed Serena will get a VOD release on February 26th, followed by a theatrical run on March 27th.

Serena is set in Depression era North Carolina and follows a timber magnate and his wife as they fight to hold on to their business while dealing with personal struggles. When she discovers she can't bear children, her husband's illegitimate son becomes the target of her wrath.

Whether the film is any good or not we'll begin to learn soon when Serena opens at the BFI London Film Festival, but first here are a batch of brand new photos. [DigitalSpy]

'Serena' with Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper "Makes No Sense"; Gets Early 2015 Release

When tracking movies every day you start to get a sense for when a project is shaping up to be a dud. Sometimes there are production headaches, a veritable army of screenwriters trying to get the script right, or a game of musical chairs when it comes to casting. But the greatest indicator of a flop in the making is when a studio seems to be averse to releasing the completed film at all, and that's what happened with Serena, Susanna Bier's buzzworthy drama starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper, which is now set for a release early next year after being a no-show on any schedule for quite some time.

So when you see the words "early next year" you know that means the first two or three months of 2015, generally regarded as a cinematic dumping ground. Magnolia Pictures picked up the rights to the film some time ago and have done nothing with it in the two years since shooting wrapped. Serena was shot after Lawrence and Cooper's Silver Linings Playbook and before American Hustle, to get a sense for how long it's been sitting idle. A U.K. release was planned for next month after a premiere at BFI London Film Festival, which is when the first reviews should start rolling out and chances are they will be harsh. THR cites sources that say the film was passed over by multiple distributors before Magnolia took over, with one saying "The film was so edited, it made no sense." Another ripped the performances, calling them "uneven, particularly Lawrence's [descent into madness]." Ouch.

And yet, I still firmly believe the movie will do well if only because of the stars involved. Let's not forget the turmoil World War Z encountered but largely due to the presence of Brad Pitt it became one of last year's biggest hits. Plus, Serena shouldn't have a lot of competition to deal with at that time of year.

The Mockingjay Lives in New Trailer for 'The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1'

"It's the things we love most that destroy us." Those ominous, prophetic words by President Snow (Donald Sutherland) couldn't apply more to Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), the stalwart heroine of The Hunger Games franchise. She entered the brutal games in an effort to save her beloved sister, and was forced to enter them a second time to save her entire family and those of her friends. Now in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1, Katniss will risk everything to save her homeland of Panem from the Capitol's oppressive rule.

The new trailer for first chapter in the two-part Mockingjay finale has been released and it shows what a vastly different movie this is compared to the others. For one, Katniss is no longer just a competitor in the Games; she is now the Mockingjay, leader of a rebellion whether she wants to be or not. But like any war, it can't be won merely with firepower, and we see President Snow using the brainwashed Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) as his main propaganda weapon against the rebels.

Julianne Moore joins the cast as President Alma Coin, and according to EW her role has been beefed up compared to the Suzanne Collins novels. Philip Seymour Hoffman returns for what is the late actor's final performance, along with the original cast of Woody Harrelson, Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin, Jena Malone, and Stanley Tucci.  Directed by Francis Lawrence, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1 opens November 21st.

First Trailer and Posters for 'Serena' Starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper

In the couple of years since Danish director Susanne Bier completed Serena she's made a romantic comedy in Love is All You Need, and just debuted A Second Chance at TIFF. And yet still we haven't seen Serena in theaters, this despite starring Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper. While it's never a good sign when a film with big names is put on the shelf for so long, Lawrence and Cooper are so bankable that the quality of the movie shouldn't matter. But recently it's looked like things are changing as the U.K. has a release date set for next month, and now today comes the first trailer along with a couple of new posters.

The Depression-era drama stars Lawrence and Cooper as a North Carolina couple struggling to hold on to their timber empire in the face of  trying personal circumstances. The situation becomes worse when they learn she can't get pregnant. So it's a little bit There will be Blood and a little bit Revolutionary Road, but the trailer looks promising even if it gives away too much of the plot.

The only question is when or if we'll ever see it in the U.S. Magnolia has the rights but don't seem to be in any hurry to provide a release date when now would be the perfect time to do it. Perhaps a date can be nailed down after Serena debuts at the London Film Festival.
